The ideal candidate will perform advanced-level duties assisting skilled trades workers in maintenance and renovation tasks, such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and other building trades work. In addition to supporting the department's Skilled Trades Worker will also:
- Will perform semi-skilled tasks (in various trades).
- Clean work areas, sweep, collect trash, assist in demolition activities, and move supplies and equipment.
- Performs minor operation, maintenance, installation, and repair of HVAC, heating equipment, and plumbing.
- Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and systems assigned to HVAC and Heating.
- Transports raw materials and semi-finished products or supplies between departments or buildings.
- Performs minor welding repairs; operates power tools.
- Performs light carpentry work, such as building bookshelves, bookcases, etc.
- Mixes and pours concrete for foundations and fixtures.
- Installs, repairs, and services motors, pumps, and fans.
- Operates heavy machinery, such as forklifts, tractors, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:

Knowledge of tools and equipment used in HVAC and heating.

Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience in one or more of the skilled trades, (e.g. plumbing, pipe laying, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, masonry, air conditioning, painting, etc.).
Valid Florida Class E Driver's License (Must maintain for the duration of employment).
Additional Information
Work is primarily completed during normal business hours (Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm); however, schedule flexibility is required to effectively perform the requirements of the position. May be required to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
In the event of an emergency, natural or manmade disaster the employee will be expected to work.

Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is OH/1350: : Probationary Rate - $19.25 Job Rate - $9.75 Two (2) Year Rate - 20.34 in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
