Summary
This position entails performing regular maintenance technicians of assigned jobs. Duties include performing work involving the skills of two or more trades to maintain building and common areas components and structures. Duties may involve carpentry, concrete, light electrical, light plumbing, painting, drywall, etc.
Skills and Abilities
- Skilled Maintenance Technician requires (3) or more years of working experience in at least 2 of the following trades: Framing, Concrete, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Painting, Welding, Drywall, Stucco, Masonry, and/or Roofing.
- Trade, OSHA, and Equipment Certifications are a plus but not a requirement for the position.
- Valid Driver's License without any restrictions, no DUI or DWI in the past five years.
- Ability to use various construction, power, and hand tools.
- Possesses all necessary tools to complete various job assignments.
- Knowledgeable and ability to perform research and problem-solving in most aspects of construction and maintenance.
- Has working knowledge of construction materials, material applications, and tools.
- Self-starter, and the ability to work unsupervised.
- Good communication skills.
- Responsible for the safety of the site, team, and self.
- Proficient with technology including basic computer skills, software, smartphone, and tablet.
- Transportation is required and must be reliable, presentable in working conditions, and able to transport and deliver materials and tools such as ladders, wheelbarrows, and other equipment to the worksites.
- Physical Abilities: The ability to lift 50 pounds, work at heights and able to work in extreme weather conditions, able to continually climb, balance, stoop, and kneel sometimes for prolonged periods of time is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing visual observation on various building components and site amenities and immediately reporting all hazardous and life safety concerns to company management.
- Lead teams on projects and repairs as directed by company management.
- Read technical data and manufacture specifications and perform repairs and installations.
- Respond to maintenance requests and perform repairs and installations per work orders or scope of work.
- Assist with coworkers' needs as directed by Management.

- Procure and deliver materials for jobs.

Mechanically skilled technicians are being hired as skilled members of our manufacturing operations teams. Mechanically skilled technicians are responsible for enabling production throughput, reducing equipment downtime, troubleshooting issues, eliminating defects, and building technical mastery. They start their career as online shift technicians focusing on learning the technology by running the lines and get accelerated in mechanical and leadership career paths based on skills demonstrated. They focus on initiating and implementing continuous improvement projects with the goal of delivering the best product, at the lowest cost, with the highest quality, and in a safe environment. They have mechanical technical mastery to successfully troubleshoot problems and to proactively improve production systems as part of the team. Mechanically skilled technicians perform various types of work, such as:
+ Operating the equipment
+ Maintaining and troubleshooting high-speed packing, process, and other machinery and equipment.
+ Performing preventive maintenance and calibrations on equipment.
+ Troubleshooting, monitoring, & improving equipment and systems.
+ Analyzing trends and technical data to gain insights of the equipment and systems and identify issues proactively.
+ Building technical skills in others.

The Alexandria Procter & Gamble Plant operates 7-days per week on 12 hour rotating shifts. We operate on a 2-2-3 work schedule rotating between days (5:30 am-6:00 pm) and nights (5:30 pm-6:00 am).
Job Qualifications

· Minimum of a high school diploma/GED & 2-years of technical experience in manufacturing or like industry
· Applied mechanical skills in an industrial environment.
· Should be knowledgeable about different types of machinery and equipment commonly used in manufacturing including various types of engines, pumps, compressors, turbines, conveyors, gears, bearings, and other mechanical components. Understanding the working principles, construction, and operational characteristics of these systems enables technicians to diagnose problems and perform maintenance or repairs.
· Proficiency in using a wide range of tools and instruments is essential for a mechanical technician. They should be well-versed in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision instruments for tasks such as disassembly, assembly, measurement, alignment, and testing.
· System Integration: In addition to understanding individual components, a mechanical technician should have a grasp of how various components interact within a larger system. This includes knowledge of system integration, control mechanisms, automation, and interconnections with electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems. Understanding system behavior and interdependencies is crucial for effective troubleshooting and maintenance.
· Strong technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, issue resolution, and root cause analysis for mechanical issues
· Interpersonal and teamwork skills
· Able to rotate shifts (on a 2-2-3 rapid rotation schedule with 12-hour shifts)
