ERM is hiring an onsite Field Technician in Borger, Texas supporting our key clients’ refinery operations. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) limited-term role with a duration of 1 year, extendable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs on-site tasks such as equipment maintenance, chemical sampling and testing, and confined space entry, ensuring safety and operational efficiency in hazardous environments.
- Strong safety knowledge, repairing machinery, maintaining systems, documenting findings, and collaborating with teams to resolve technical issues and meet quality standards.
- Strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and strict adherence to safety protocols are essential for this role.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- A minimum of 2 years of Field Service experience, environmental experience preferred.
- A working vehicle, valid driver’s license, and a good driving record.
- Effective observational and organization skills; experience recording detailed technical data a plus.
- Effective communication skills with ERM and client staff.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.

About the Role:
Summary The Field Service Technician performs a variety of tasks, including but not limited to, onsite bolting, heat treating and/or field machining. Completes any and all tasks assigned by the Field Supervisor to meet goals of increased efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Ideal candidates will have experience with construction or mechanical work and/or possess knowledge of plant maintenance and repair work.

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in mechanical bolting, heat treating, or field machining preferred.
- Experience performing maintenance and turnaround services to refining, chemical, midstream, and power.
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
- Possess a current TWIC card or have the ability to obtain one.
- Valid driver license with a clear driving record
- Demonstrated mechanical ability.
- Must be able travel a minimum of 75% of the time.

- Ability to pass a non-DOT medical exam, drug and alcohol test, respirator qualification test, and federal class background check.

**About the role**
As a Field Service Technician, you will represent Conifer Systems and be responsible for installation, commissioning, and repair of industrial combustion and environmental equipment including oxidizers, ovens, furnaces, flares, vapor combustors, vapor recovery units, scrubbers, bag houses, skids and other equipment or systems and associated controls. This position will be servicing equipment in North America and Mexico.

**Key accountabilities**
+ Mechanical and/or Electronics or equivalent work experience or training/education accepted or Five years industrial mechanical/electrical field service experience and/or training in combustion or industrial training.
+ Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
+ Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
+ Must be a self-starter, able to work independently and in a team environment.
+ Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
+ Ability to solve problems, think analytically and communicate professionally in high pressure, time sensitive, customer environment.
+ Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal are required
+ Combustion and environmental equipment and burner management systems (e.g. oxidizers, ovens, flares, etc.)
+ Wiring, terminations, debugging
+ Read electrical/ladder schematics and ladder logic diagrams
+ Read P&ID's and mechanical drawings
+ Familiar with industry specifications, e.g. NEMA, NEC/NFPA, UL, etc.
+ Familiar with PLC Control Systems, preferably Programming/Debugging
+ Physical Requirements:
+ Must be willing to travel extensively including globally.
+ Must be able to drive and work in inclement weather conditions for extended periods.
+ Must be able to fly and otherwise travel domestically and internationally.
+ Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department.
+ Ability to lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
