The Maintenance and Operations Department is seeking (1) Skilled Trades Worker to join the already awesome team taking the Building Maintenance Department to the next level of excellence!

The ideal candidate will perform advanced-level duties assisting skilled trades workers in maintenance and renovation tasks, such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and other building trades work. In addition to supporting the department's Skilled Trades Worker will also:
- Will perform semi-skilled tasks (in various trades).
- Clean work areas, sweep, collect trash, assist in demolition activities, and move supplies and equipment.
- Performs minor operation, maintenance, installation, and repair of HVAC, heating equipment, and plumbing.
- Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and systems assigned to HVAC and Heating.
- Transports raw materials and semi-finished products or supplies between departments or buildings.
- Performs minor welding repairs; operates power tools.
- Performs light carpentry work, such as building bookshelves, bookcases, etc.
- Mixes and pours concrete for foundations and fixtures.
- Installs, repairs, and services motors, pumps, and fans.
- Operates heavy machinery, such as forklifts, tractors, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:

Knowledge of tools and equipment used in HVAC and heating.

Job Description
Performs work in several trades including general construction, maintenance, or repairs in a manner consistent with accepted practices, under the direction of the Facilities Director. The class works within a general outline of work to be performed and requires minimal supervision.
Position Duties
The tasks below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
May perform all levels of:
- Plumbing repair, replacement, and new work to include fixtures, fittings, lines, etc.
- Carpentry repair, replacement, and new work to include framing, doors, windows, etc.
- May perform minor electrical repair, replacement, and new work to include lighting, switches, receptacles, etc.

Provides regular progress reports to Facilities Director.
Responds to emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience in one or more of the skilled trades, (e.g. plumbing, pipe laying, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, masonry, air conditioning, painting, etc.).
Valid Florida Class E Driver's License (Must maintain for the duration of employment).
Additional Information
Work is primarily completed during normal business hours (Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm); however, schedule flexibility is required to effectively perform the requirements of the position. May be required to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
In the event of an emergency, natural or manmade disaster the employee will be expected to work.
Successful completion of a criminal background investigation including polygraph. Requires drug test prior to assuming position and if employed, will be subject to post-accident, and/or random and reasonable suspicion drug tests while employed.

Our current technicians work 30-40 hours each week, and they enjoy most weekends and evenings off.

About the Role
Under the direction of the Senior Project Manager and Supervisor Maintenance & Construction, performs a variety of tasks in and around the buildings of the facility. Assists plumbers, carpenters, painters and electricians in completing their duties. Transports materials, equipment and tools to and from work sites. Cleans and restores area upon completion of project or maintenance work.

- Assists in the installation, maintenance and repair of pipe assemblies, pipe systems, plumbing fixtures, regulators, valves, pumps and fans.
- Removes worn out equipment such as wall heaters, steam and water lines.
- Assists in the construction, installation, repair and maintenance of wooden fixtures and structures such as doors, partitions, ceilings and furniture.
- Assists in the installation, repair or removal of hardware such as door closer and floorboards or coverings such as linoleum or tile.
- Receives instruction in and uses power tools such as planer, sander, saws and drills or hand tools such as planes, chisels, rasps or saws.
- Assists in the applying paint, varnish, stain, enamel, etc., to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces.
- Assists in preparing surfaces for paintings.
- Assists in preparing area of painting.
- Terminally cleans construction areas
- Assists with preparing area of work such as covering equipment to protect the equipment from dirt or damage.
- Moves equipment to temporary location so work can proceed and returns equipment to original location.
- Transports tools, materials and other supplies.
- Keeps work area neat and orderly.
- Cleans and restores area to appropriate condition upon completion of project or maintenance work.
- Moving Furnitures and equipment's as directed
What You'll Bring

- Technical school diploma or an equivalent level of knowledge and one (1) year of experience in carpentry, and plumbing, electrical work or other plant operations functions.

Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is OH/1350: : Probationary Rate - $19.25 Job Rate - $9.75 Two (2) Year Rate - 20.34 in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
