Job Description
Our client is seeking a dedicated and organized Apprenticeship Coordinator to manage and grow their skilled trades apprenticeship programs. This hybrid role, based in the Richmond, Virginia, US area, will involve a mix of in-office administrative duties and on-site visits to training facilities and employer locations. You will be responsible for the recruitment, enrollment, and ongoing support of apprentices, as well as coordinating with trade partners and educational institutions. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of apprenticeship models, excellent communication skills, and a passion for developing the next generation of skilled trades professionals.

- Oversee the recruitment and selection process for new apprentices, including outreach, application review, and interviews.
- Manage the enrollment and onboarding of apprentices, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers, training providers, and industry associations.
- Coordinate apprentice schedules, ensuring they meet both on-the-job training and related instruction requirements.
- Monitor apprentice progress and provide guidance and support to ensure successful completion of the program.
- Maintain accurate records of apprentice hours, training progress, and program compliance.
- Assist in the development and updating of curriculum and training materials.
- Organize and facilitate program events, orientations, and graduation ceremonies.
- Serve as a liaison between apprentices, employers, and educational institutions.
- Stay informed about labor market trends and industry needs related to skilled trades.
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., Human Resources, Education, Business Administration).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in program coordination, workforce development, or HR, preferably within skilled trades or apprenticeships.
- Strong understanding of apprenticeship frameworks and best practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse groups of individuals.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with database management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment.
- Passion for career development and supporting individuals entering skilled trades.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally to employer sites and training centers.
- Experience with adult education or training program management is a plus.
