Fulltime/40 Hours a Week/Night Shift/ Monday thru Thursday, 8pm-6:30am; This position is to be an overnight position. 4-10/hr nights Monday night thru Thursday night. 8:30PM-0630AM
**POSITION SUMMARY:** Performs polysomnography recordings in the evaluation of various sleep disorders in accordance with Department policies/procedures. Patient care includes care to patients in the following age groups: adolescent (13 through 18 years), adult (19 through 64 years) and geriatric (65 years and above).
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
+ Performs daytime and/or nocturnal polysomnography recordings as needed according to physician's orders and/or Department policies and procedures, utilizing monitors, recorders, analyzers, and other data acquisition instrumentation for the purpose of obtaining graphic records of related sleep events.
+ Performs Multiple Sleep Latency Testing according to physician's orders and following procedural protocols for such testing.
+ Confers directly with the patients, explaining the procedures involved and equipment used in the preparation, actual performance and disconnection procedures involved in polysomnography and/or nocturnal oxygen saturation studies.
+ Prepares and calibrates all computer and recording equipment both pre and post study.
+ Performs routine positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fittings
+ Implement appropriate interventions (including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic interventions such as continuous or bi-level positive airway pressure, oxygen administration, etc.)
+ Provides complete and accurate documentation according to Department policies for all diagnostic related studies or procedures.
+ Prepares patients for ambulatory screening sleep studies/oximetry and assists in the downloading and scoring of such studies.
+ Schedules, orients, and educates, as necessary, patients seen in the Sleep Center.
+ Score clinical events (such as respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, arousal, etc) according to departmental protocols
+ Scores sleep/wake stages by applying professionally accepted and department specific guidelines.
+ Generates accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data.
**SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:** The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:
+ Performs other related duties such as participating in cardiopulmonary resuscitations, and providing clinical instruction to respiratory therapy students.
+ Registers patients for Sleep Disorder Center Services
+ Participates in the on-call responsibilities for this position as required.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
**MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
+ Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), issued by the Board of Polysomnographic Technologists (BPRT) or the American Board of Sleep Medicine
OR
+ Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or a RN/LPN with 1 year of clinical experience. Must secure RPSGT Credential within 30 months of date of Sleep Center hire.
+ One (1) year of patient care experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ One to three (1-3) years of EEG technology experience.
+ One to three (1-3) years of sleep disorders experience
+ One to three (1-3) years of computer skills.

The Semel Institute is seeking to hire a full time SRA I to work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI). In this role you will complete the duties of Staff Research Associate I (SRA I) by coordinating all aspects of a sleep study in a population with rare genetic disorders. Responsibilities will include:
+ Contacting prospective participants from an existing pool of people previously enrolled in other studies and coordinating their data collection visits including clinical and cognitive assessments.
+ Remotely train participants to use sleep recording devices to be used in their home, including troubleshooting problems as they may occur.
+ Ensuring that data collection has been completed and managing data on various cloud-based databases.
+ Preparing feedback reports to be sent to participants.
+ Preparing and tracking FedEx shipments, as well as device management.
+ Assisting with MRI data collection.
Pay Range: $26.52 - $31.63 hourlyQualifications
Required:
+ Experience working with human subjects (youth and families)
+ Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.
+ Experience working with personal computers, word processing and data entry software including basic statistics (for example Excel and Word)
+ Understanding of MR and fMRI methodology.
+ Skill in the use of personal computers, word processing and data entry software applications including basic statistics (Excel/other statistical package)
+ Ability to perform other computer data tasks such as data entry and verification.
+ Obtain MRI Safety Training at UCLA brain imaging centers (center for Cognitive Neuroscience (CCN) or Brain Mapping Center)
+ Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with research participants, colleagues, and external collaborators.
+ Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail for accurate data collection, entry, and management.
+ Flexibility and Adaptability: Skill in working independently and ability to follow through on assignments with minimal direction. Ability to adapt to changes in protocols, procedures, and technology in a research environment.
