The Senior Operations Business Analyst is responsible for leading and managing complex business analysis efforts across various areas within the Enterprise. The Senior Operations Business Analyst mentors junior analysts, drives innovation, and ensures solutions align with the company's strategic direction. This Business Analyst will drive Finance's data roadmap by uncovering customer and process needs. Hands-on experience with modern data tools, such as Collibra for data governance and Data Build Tool for transformation, is essential for seamless collaboration across data and finance teams. Daily work will center on facilitating requirement sessions, conducting data analysis, and ensuring alignment with data product objectives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate complex requirement elicitation sessions using advanced techniques to assess and define current state processes, determine requirements, and deliver data-driven recommendations for target state.
  • Conduct moderate to complex data profiling, analysis, and mapping. Develop and translate business requirements in collaboration with engineers.
  • Document procedures, create operational readiness plans, and ensure comprehensive repository of business requirements documents.
  • Maintain holistic understanding of product delivery roadmap, ensure product backlog quality, and collaborate with agile teams to refine work items.
  • Partner with teams to incorporate client personas into product backlog and requirements. Ensure solutions improve customer experience.
  • Work with team members to evaluate business suitability of applications/solutions. Collaborate with integration teams to ensure model design and development is properly communicated.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate risks associated with business initiatives and projects. Suggest contingency plans to address potential issues.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve business processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to drive operational excellence.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans and initiatives that align with the company's long-term goals. Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis and market trends.
  • Mentor junior analysts on elicitation techniques, artifact development, and agile methodologies. Promote innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
  • May assist with project management gaps, develop project plans, conduct agile ceremonies, and ensure timely turnover of deliverables.

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; relevant professional qualification or equivalent industry experience preferred.
  • 7+ years of successful experience in business analysis, data analysis, and delivering valuable solutions. Proven track record in insurance or relevant industry.

Skills:

+ Ability to read and interpret hospital financial statements and contract terms, utilize complex financial models, experience with operational process mapping and experience with healthcare cost reduction planning and implementation
+ Experience with healthcare organization M&A, physician alignment, or financial margin improvement initiatives
+ Experience in selling and delivering projects that cover the full life cycle of assessment, design and implementation support

**Required qualifications**
+ A bachelor's or master's degree and approximately 3+ years of relevant work experience in healthcare, insurance, business analysis, consulting, or a related field.
+ Approximately 2 years of healthcare consulting experience, preferably with prior experience in a consulting firm
+ Assist in generating revenue within existing healthcare clients and in developing new prospects at the "C" level of large healthcare companies
+ Ability to manage a team of staff/senior consulting professionals
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment (knows when to lead and when to follow)
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills
+ A willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is required as needed by the client.

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $96,300 to $76,500. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is 115,500 to 200,600. Department Position Summary:
The Business Data Analyst, EMG is a quantitative specialist who understands the business needs of a physician group and how to use data to achieve those needs. They are responsible for organizing and managing large and varied data sets, analyzing healthcare data to optimize business operations, and communicate trends and findings using data visualization and detailed reports. The analyst will assist in coordinating financial and operational analysis including provider compensation and reimbursement, operational key performance indicators, audits and quality analysis, and establish effective monitoring processes for the organization. Serves as liaison to staff, physician, practice leadership, and organizational executive leadership related to financial and operational performance of the medical group. Serves as training liaison to practice leaders, staff, and physicians that focus on performance outcomes, and serves as key stakeholder with Erlanger eChart in reporting optimization and results to enhance operational and financial performance.
- Compiles and organizes financial and operational data
- Gathers and organizes information for problem solving
- Understands data storage and data sharing methods and effectively utilizes resources
- Analyzes data to assist in delivering optimal healthcare management and decision making
- Uses healthcare data to achieve administrative needs and goals

- Serves as stakeholder for provider pay incentive-based software system (Simpliphy) including enters provider contracts and validates accuracy
- Processes provider base salary and FTE changes
- Performs comprehensive analyses related to physician compensation and physician productivity, including monthly true-up calculations and salary draw monitoring
- Audits provider dashboards
- Develops and implement tools and processes to support physicians and operational leaders in their understanding of physician compensation and production
- Completes data analysis of monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for EMG and communicates executive level and service line level data timely
- Coordinates with EMG Operational Performance (Training) Team on KPI areas of opportunities and assist in training clinic staff in system workflows that optimize performance
- Monitors clinic budgets and communicates variances with applicable clinic leaders
- Assists in regular communication with physicians regarding their compensation plans
- Creates models, custom reporting packages, and ad hoc reports to meet the information needs of internal stakeholders and senior leadership of EMG
- Ensures adherence to current policies and procedures while emphasizing their significance in workflow
- Remains flexible and adaptive in business functions, making changes to procedures as necessary
- Notes necessary changes to be made in current policies and procedures, discusses such with Sr. Director Business Operations and/or VP Operations, EMG.
- Contributes to positive business results by maintaining a workplace characterized by high performance, mutual support, respect, and teamwork
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills across all areas of the organization
- Other duties as assigned to support provider contracting and business operations
- Serves as a liaison on behalf of the Business Office leadership to executives and physicians as needed.
