The Business Development Manager (BDM) develops and maintains an assigned Energy Systems sales territory focused on sales to end users and municipalities. The Business Development Manager has the responsibility to develop and execute a territory management plan covering customers and channels including mobile product users, municipal entities, and other end user customers. Our Business Development Representatives play a pivotal role on our Marketing team! Our BDR's are
instrumental in growing our net-new sales pipeline. The primary focus is identifying, developing, and
creating new business opportunities for the Field Sales Executive(s). This is an office based role, working a hybrid schedule.
**About the Role:**
-Create and prioritize strategic target account lists within a defined territory with support from the field
sales executives as well as field sales management
- Leverage strong prospecting and business development skills to generate incremental revenue
opportunities thru outbound calling and lead generation
- Utilize knowledge of UKG products and solutions to enhance the client's or prospect's interest of UKG
and communicate the value of our solution(s) to further assist the sales cycle

**Basic Qualifications:**
- One-year professional experience in a BDR/SDR/Sales/Prospecting or customer facing type role or a college degree in sales with 6 months+ BDR/SDR/Sales/Prospecting or customer facing experience
- Strong business development, prospecting, sales and/or marketing background
- Experience using strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex
information to varying audiences
- Able to work in an assigned location: Chicago IL, Austin TX, Denver CO, Lowell MA, Weston FL or Atlanta GA
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Knowledge of the enterprise software industry, specifically HCM or Workforce Management

Our Business Development Representatives (BDR) Team is comprised of over 70 BDRs throughout North America. The team supports over 300 sales reps in several market segments from Small to Medium Businesses up to Enterprise level companies. BDRs are a crucial part of UKG's Marketing and Sales organizations, responsible for generating new business through outbound prospecting and lead follow up. This position is part of the Global Sales Organization located in the in the Eastern Massachusetts / Boston area, and will be fully remote. You will be a part of the North American Sales Team and report to the Regional Sales Manager (East) responsible for driving orders growth and developing and maintaining strong client relationships in the E. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Build strong relationships with existing clients to deepen the trust, breath of business, and long term growth between the two organizations.

The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Minimum of a B.S. in a scientific field.
+ Minimum of 5 years in a client-facing sales role in the life sciences industry, with preferred experience in the biopharma industry selling into the cell and gene therapy client segments, with proven track record of being a top performer.
+ Broad technical understanding in the field of molecular and cell biology, with the ability to describe the workflows related to biotherapeutics, including nucleic acids, gene editing, DNA plasmids, mRNA therapeutics, viral vector technologies, CAR-T, etc.
+ At least 1 year of sales experience for Contract Development and/or Contract manufacturing Organizations supporting Cell and Gene Therapies, or equivalent experience.
+ At least 1 year of sales experience into the clinical drug development process, including knowledge of call points, sales cycle and KOL for Biotech and Pharma in the Cell and Gene Therapy space, or equivalent experience.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ MSc or PhD
+ Supporting early or late-stage clinical programs and/or GMP manufacturing
