Computer Skills:
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel, are necessary. Familiarity with video conferencing tools like Zoom is required.
Analytic Ability:

Purpose and Impact:
The SNAP® Case Manager is responsible for the day-to-day case management and system navigation of SNAP® Fatherhood Initiative Program (FIP). Responsible for administering the SNAP® Fatherhood Initiative Program (FIP) curriculum to either the parent or child group during the 13-week SNAP group cycle. - Screen, counsel, and advise clients on necessary documentation and eligibility requirements for the SNAP Program.
- Help potentially eligible households and individuals gain access to the SNAP program by providing application guidance and assistance using web-based tools (e.g., Access HRA).
- Provide post-application assistance and advocacy for disputed cases, as needed, to existing clients.
- Provide case management assistance to existing clients (e.g., periodic reports and case change forms).
- Provide recertification assistance to SNAP participants via web-based tools (e.g., Access HRA).
- Work in tandem with staff at partner agencies and other Met Council departments.
- Attend community outreach events, fairs, and forums as needed. Occasionally, this will involve nontraditional work hours.
- Work towards connecting clients with other low-income programs and benefits, including but not limited to Fair Fares, free tax preparation services, Health Insurance, HEAP, NYC Care, WIC, etc.
- Document all services rendered in Met Council's database system (Salesforce) and other relevant tracking tools.

Conducts intake and case management activities and provides supportive services to customers. Must demonstrate a strong concern for others and high integrity. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adheres to the mission of SERCO.
- Interviews customers or their authorized representatives to gather information to assess service needs.
- Responsible for the intake process of center customers to determine eligibility for services.
- Interpret and explain information such as eligibility requirements, application details, and applicants’ legal rights.
- Conduct in-depth interviewing, testing, and skills assessment of eligible participants for entry into career center activities.
- Interview participants at specified intervals to certify their eligibility for continuing benefits
- Completes applicant documents and forms accurately and expeditiously.
- Compile, record, and evaluate personal and financial data to verify completeness and accuracy, and to determine eligibility status

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Preferred, Associate Degree with coursework in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field; or
- Two (2) years of related experience performing intake and certification work, or a combination of experience and education.
- Or has been employed with SERCO in a temporary or a Sub-E position for at least 6 months.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of programs administered by TWC, TANF, etc.
- Ability to properly interview and screen clients for services.
- Ability to read and interpret eligibility requirements.
- Ability to properly administer and score assessment instruments.
