The successful candidate will be part of the distributed KBR team supporting the Test Resource Management Center's (TRMC) Big Data Knowledge Management Portfolio's Cloud Hybrid Edge-to-Enterprise Evaluation Test & Analysis Suite (CHEETAS) of tools. We are seeking a highly experienced DoD Software Analyst with a strong understanding of software engineering, agile development and requirements elicitation to join our dynamic distributed team. As a Software Analyst on the BDKM team, you will play a vital role in the development lifecycle and requirements traceability of CHEETAS. You will be instrumental in gathering, documenting and translating DoD Test and Evaluation (T&E) community needs and requests into actionable software requirements. You will be responsible for eliciting, analyzing, documenting and managing new software requirements while ensuring alignment of user needs with the CHEETAS roadmap. You will also be responsible for deducing requirements from existing functionality for previously undocumented requirements and working with subject matter experts and CCB members to sort through the backlog of existing feature requests. Your ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and translate user requirements into clear, concise, testable requirements for the software development team will be crucial to the success of CHEETAS. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
- Must possess an active and transferable DoD security clearance.
- A Master's degree in a technical discipline with at least twelve (12) years of professional work experience is required with eight (8) years of related duties preferable
- General knowledge of Army Aviation Platforms and Avionics Architecture
- Candidate should have experience working with certifying agencies for airworthiness and safety
- Candidate should have a working knowledge of open system architecture, DO-178,
- DO-254, MIL-STD-882E, development and traceability, and software architectures
- Working knowledge of Army Acquisition process and Material Release process
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in coordinating and planning the software aspects for the program, to include use of SILs and simulation assets
- Represent the Product Office in technical reviews as required to accomplish the mission to include System Requirements Reviews (SRRs), In-Process Reviews, (IPRs), Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), and Safety Review Boards associated with systems engineering activities.
- Preform the analysis of software requirements to ensure bi-directional traceability and completeness.
- Provide key software technical expertise for: software documentation review (DO-178 documentations set)
- Coordinate review and adjudication of software documentation with certifying agencies
- Identifying and track software risk areas for the program, formulate and implement risk mitigation plans
- Assist in writing and reviews of Statements of Work (SOW), performs technical evaluations of contractor proposals, and participates in supporting contractual activities
- Support software sustainment activities
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. + Develop custom queries by examining databases to extract data using Structured Query Language that fulfills business requirements following established business rules
