**Job Description:**
Broadcom's Mainframe Software Division (MSD) is looking for a talented and motivated Software Development Engineer in Test(SDET) with a passion for building high quality applications using agile practices to join our Mainframe Security and Compliance team. The SDET will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated tests, assessing test automation tools and frameworks, defining testing strategies, and ensuring overall software quality. This role requires strategic planning, leadership in test automation, and active participation in Agile team processes. The ideal candidate has strong programming skills, experience in test automation, and a deep understanding of software development and testing methodologies.

_What you will be doing in a typical week:_
+ Adopt a test-first approach to software development in which, where possible, the test is developed before the code.
+ Assess, define, and document test framework(s), including use of technology stack(s) and test automation tools, considering the long-term maintainability of automated testing.
+ Establish performance testing baselines and define benchmarking strategies.
+ Provide leadership on industry-standard testing processes (e.g., BDD) and develop automated and manual testing strategies.
+ Participate in design and code reviews with other engineers.
+ Develop comprehensive test plans and facilitate collaborative team reviews to finalize the testing strategy.
+ Review and analyze product code changes to design better test cases and strategies
+ Define and create pipelines to enable Continuous Testing within Agile teams.
+ Write programs, utilities, scripts and pipelines to support the following:
+ Testing in various test streams such as Integration, System, Performance, and Compatibility
+ Destructive testing and validation of system recoverability
+ Boundary and edge case testing
+ Load and scalability testing
+ Concurrency testing
+ Update automated regression tests for newly identified defects where appropriate.
+ Maintain the outcome of automated testing, including reviewing and resolving false positives and improving fragile tests.
+ Execute manual and exploratory testing as required.
+ Identify and mitigate potential security vulnerabilities in the testing process and tools.
_Qualifications:_

+ At least 5+ years of experience testing modern large-scale software and complex test configurations
+ Has mastered the basics of operating as a developer in the IBM mainframe environment
+ Basic understanding of CICS architecture and commands
+ Experience in implementing JCL to execute batch processes in zOS or zVSE
+ Additional experience in one or more of the following: Metal C, REXX, CLIST, ISPF, JES 2/3 _Preferred Education:_

The annual base salary range for this position is $91,000 - $146,000
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.

We're hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to help build a robust test infrastructure for a cutting-edge software-defined networking (SDN) platform. In this role, you'll work closely with both backend and frontend engineers to design automated tests, simulate real-world networking scenarios, and ensure reliability from the kernel to the UI.

Rate: $60 - $0 / hr. w2
**Responsibilities:**
+ Design and implement automated test frameworks across the stack (frontend, backend, networking, and infrastructure).
+ Write and maintain integration, E2E, and system-level tests using tools like Pytest, Jest, and Cypress.
+ Test APIs (REST and gRPC) for functionality, security, and performance.
+ Build and run test scenarios for networking features (e.g. NAT, firewalls, VPN tunnels, VRFs).
+ Build and execute test plans in HIL environments to validate software on real hardware.
+ Work with PostgreSQL and SQLite to seed test data, assert correctness, and validate migrations.
+ Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
**Experience Requirements:**
+ 4+ years of experience in test automation or software quality roles, ideally with exposure to both frontend and backend testing.
+ Strong programming skills in Python and TypeScript.
+ Hands-on experience with networking testing tools and debugging traffic behavior.
+ Experience with test frameworks such as Pytest, Jest, and Cypress.
+ Familiarity with REST and gRPC API testing.
+ Experience testing web UIs built with React/Next.js.
+ Ability to set up and validate cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS EC2, VPC) and simulate real-world scenarios.
+ Familiar with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated build/test workflows.
