Responsibilities

• Drive the design, and implementation of our foundational platforms and systems to develop tools that integrate natively with our Artisans.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
• Proactively identify opportunities for, and driving improvements to, current programming practices, including process enhancements and tool upgrades.
• Present technical information to teams and stakeholders, providing guidance and insight on development processes and technologies.
• Instruct AI agents to assist in code development.

• 5+ years of full-time engineering experience, post-graduation with specialities in back-end systems.
• Highly savvy in utilizing the latest AI coding tools/agents.
• Experience in Go and/or Python.
• Extensive experience in software development and a deep understanding of distributed systems and public cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• A track record of independent ownership of successful engineering projects.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working fluently with standard containerization & deployment technologies.
• Experience with NoSQL and structured databases.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices and CI/CD tooling.

• Build, maintain, and scale beautiful, performant, and user-friendly web interfaces using React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create a seamless and intuitive user experience.
• Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
• Optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers.
• Collaborate with team members, including back-end developers and UX/UI designers, to improve usability.
• Write clean, scalable, and documented code.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and apply them into day-to-day work.

• 3+ years of experience building modern frontend applications, with a strong command of React.js, TypeScript, and Next.js.
• Expertise in CSS frameworks like Tailwind CSS, with a focus on building visually appealing, responsive designs.
• Proficiency in managing client-side state and server interactions with tools like React Query.
• Experience with consuming and integrating RESTful APIs and familiarity with backend/frontend collaboration.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a passion for creating pixel-perfect UI/UX designs.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and a pursuit of perfection in your work.

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our Desktop team developing and enhancing Kraken Desktop, the premier electronic trading platform. This role involves designing, implementing and maintaining features that deliver the best trading experience out there. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in desktop application development and a passion for cryptocurrencies.

The team is located globally and works using Rust and the Iced framework.

• Develop and maintain core framework and key software components for the Kraken Desktop platform using Rust

• Identify and resolve bugs and optimize application performance

• Build highly performant and scalable code capable of handling heavy transaction volume

• Write reusable, testable and efficient code

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to product roadmap accomplishments

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering

• Advanced Rust skills (must have)

• Proactive mindset with the ability to prioritize and take ownership of large features

• Able to work with a team spanning multiple time zones and comfortable with written and asynchronous communication

• Passion for solving complex engineering problems

• Obsession with performance and building beautiful type systems

• Experience building desktop applications and/or familiarity with the Iced framework is a plus
