**POSITION SUMMARY**

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**

+ 5+ years of experience working on Azure or GCP Cloud Applications/services (Azure preferred)
+ 5+ years of experience with Agile processes, such as scrum, Kanban, and/or the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
+ 5+ years of relevant work experience in designing and building software applications with expertise in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Python, FastAPI, Go, as well as the following: Relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Azure SQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Cosmos DB), Messaging systems like Apache Kafka, MQ etc, and Container Orchestration Frameworks like Kubernetes, Docker etc.

**Pay Range**
The typical pay range for this role is:
$118,450.00 - $284,280.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.

As a Software Development Engineer on the Movement Sciences & Schedule team, you are a key member of a diverse team of engineers who deliver highly scalable robotic systems. About the team

**POSITION SUMMARY**
CVS Health is seeking a Development Engineering Manager responsible for delivering cutting-edge solutions and leading a highly motivated and efficient team. The current suite of systems includes multiple applications including, but not limited, to the Tier 1 systems for Retail Pharmacy. This Manager, as player/coach, will partner and collaborate with the development manager, business analysts, architects, quality assurance, business partners, developers, and project managers to deliver business change and innovation into our Java based business applications software. This Staff Software Development Engineering Manager will additionally be involved throughout the entire development life cycle of a product and must be able to deliver an efficient solution, as well as identify and properly mitigate any risks to the product before deployment to production.
_Expectations for the Role:_
+ Work as a Development Engineering Manager with experience on building mission critical /highly scalable application with large user/infrastructure footprint
+ Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback.
+ Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements.
+ Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks.
+ Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and teamwork within the engineering department.
+ Manage resource allocation, including hiring, training, and development of engineering staff.
+ Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud computing, and microservices architectures

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ 7+ Years of Engineering Management / Team Lead experience in enterprise/web applications
+ 7+ years of software development experience in enterprise/web applications
+ 7+ years of experience as full stack developer in Java-based technologies
+ 4+ years of experience with React/Angular
+ 4+ years of experience in modern programming languages and cloud-based technologies (GCP is preferred)
+ 3+ years of experience with building application programming interfaces (API) and frameworks in their field; experience in API security, analytics, throttling, caching, logging, request and response modifications
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Experience in Retail Pharmacy or Healthcare domain
+ Experience in Agile development practices
+ Experience with Azure, GCP or other public cloud services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), SaaS application development/support, CI/CD practices, containerization, Kubernetes, and Agile/DevOps methodologies
+ Familiarity with React JS, Nodejs or other front-end frameworks; ability to develop effective engineering practices and processes
+ Expertise in working in in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goal
+ Extensive experience of Microservices Patterns and its right implementation
+ Knowledge with GraphQL/gRPC.
+ Knowledge of open-source packages especially those provided by Apache, Google, and Spring
+ Database knowledge - SQL, NoSQL, table structure, data relationships

**Pay Range**
The typical pay range for this role is:
$118,450.00 - $284,280.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.

About the team

As a software engineer on this collaborative team, you will be directly involved in developing cloud-based, high-performance solutions that orchestrate movement for a world-wide fleet of mobile robots and provide real-time data processing that brings data science models to real-world use. The Movement Sciences & Scheduling (MOSS) team builds cloud-based, high performance software services that provide a central hub for sequencing all activities that orchestrate mobile robot movement. We also work with our data scientists to provide real-time data streaming and processing software that brings the data science models to real-world use. This system identifies issues on the warehouse floor that are impacting mobile robot performance and enables operations teams to take action.

• 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
