This is a 12+ month US-based remote contract. Must work PST hours.
The Software Engineer will be part of the Devices Operations team, supporting critical business functions across device supply chain, manufacturing, fulfillment, and services. The role involves applying principles of computer science and software engineering to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable systems and applications that power the devices business. This includes working on cloud-native services, data platforms, and AI-integrated solutions to drive operational efficiency, reliability, and innovation at scale.
Responsibilities:
- Modify existing databases and API systems.
- Write and code logical and physical database descriptions.
- Collaborate with project teams to coordinate database development and define project scope.
- Evaluate project requests to estimate time and cost.
- Troubleshoot system issues and implement necessary changes.
- Support live production systems, including incident management and performance optimization.
- 8+ years of experience with Azure services (App Services, Functions, Storage, Key Vault, DevOps).
- 8+ years of experience with C# and API building.
- Strong proficiency in SQL.
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle.
- Solid understanding of computer hardware and software fundamentals.
- Experience with Azure AI services (Cognitive Services, OpenAI) and Prompt engineering.
- Familiarity with best practices for system reliability, alerting, and telemetry.
- Excellent problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic mentoring skills.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is 65 to 75 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
