The Boeing Company is currently seeking a **Software Engineering Manager** to support our **T** **est Equipment Software** team located in **Huntsville, Alabama.** This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization.
This person will manage a team of 20-30 engineers updating and redesigning test equipment software to support increasing PAC3 program capacity. This manager will report to the M level manager for the Strategic Missile and Defense Systems (SMDS)/ADAPS SW team and will manage test equipment updates for both the Electronics Center of Excellence (ExCOE) building circuit cards and the PAC3 Factory.
The ideal candidate should have Software Simulation/Emulation skills to allow for interaction with electronics test equipment, and good working knowledge of scripted programming languages for factory and test applications. Some knowledge of on-board missile defense software will also be helpful.
The production TE SW manager will support IAMD (Integrated Air & Missile Defense) programs that currently include PAC3 Seeker Block V (SBV), PAC3 Block III/IV, Indirect Fire Protection Capability (IFPC), and Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System (ABMD). Test Equipment is used for testing power and analog subassemblies, environments, and electrical systems. Test Equipment is also developed for board level digital and analog products.
The selected candidate will assist with migration toward object-oriented solutions, pipelined build processes (DevSecOps), simulation in the loop testing, and process automation.
**Position Responsibilities:**
+ The analog and power test equipment (TE) software (SW) manager will be responsible for managing a team of engineers updating or creating TE or production automation software.
+ The TE software will be used on automated test equipment to assess product performance and quality.
+ The analog and power TE SW manager will guide employees in developing their skills, and employing new technologies such as pipelined build processes, advancing analysis tools, object-oriented architectures, networked lean factory flow processes, and continuous improvement.
+ The analog and power TE SW manager will be responsible for cost and schedule performance of the software team in achieving program goals.
+ The TE SW manager will seek opportunities to improve SW development timelines, and to increase production task automation.
**This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.**
**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):**
+ 3+ years of experience managing or leading a team in the software development discipline
+ 3+ years of experience with C/C++ or Python coding
+ Experience on a missile defense program
+ Experience with modeling and simulation software development
+ Experience with DevSecOps

**Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):**

This position is a dual-hat position requiring the candidate to perform functional management activities as well as technical responsibilities on the program.

It is expected that the Functional management role will comprise approximately 20% of the candidate's time
- Responsible for assessing staffing needs, current as well as projected and working with the respective team leads to address those needs.

- Work with program leaders in establishing personal, program, and functional goals as well as performing performance evaluations and merit adjustments for subordinates.

- Site and flight test support for subsystem requirement verification.
