We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to join our Enterprise Innovation (EI) team in designing for the "Future of Work." You will shape the future of employee productivity through large scale AI, automation, and SaaS (vendor and homegrown) systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement innovative solutions that enhance employee efficiency and the overall employee experience.
We are a data driven organization and you will lead strategic investments to make step function improvements in the lives of LinkedIn employees. This spans multiple areas including but not limited to: Providing tools and infrastructure that creates delightful employee experience; Provide and support application frameworks that empower LinkedIn employee to maximize productivity; Provide actionable insights that leverages data and metrics; Provide tools and data that help LinkedIn teams listen to their customers; and most importantly deliver reliable and scalable infrastructure. Responsibilities
+ You will manage the performance and career development of a small team of engineers (including software engineers, system engineers, enterprise engineers, and/or sysadmins), and own significant parts of internal LinkedIn products that require design, architecture, and coding.
+ You will partner with senior management in owning responsibility for large scale vendor SaaS and on-prem solutions, including contract negotiations, solution design, and support optimization.
+ You will provide thought leadership, develop and evangelize solutions to challenges faced by every individual and team at LinkedIn to improve employee happiness, productivity, and efficiency.
+ You will scale the infrastructure and tools required to keep our ~30K employees and contingent workers in step as they collaborate in chat, docs, designs, reports, etc.
+ You will participate with senior management in developing a long-term technology roadmap for LinkedIn's enterprise platforms. You will be a role model and professional coach for engineers with a strong bias for action and focus on craft.
+ You will work with peers across teams to support and leverage a shared technical stack. You will manage teams to scale distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, review code, and deliver with speediness and quality.
+ You will develop multi-tier scalable, high-volume performing, and reliable user-centric applications that operate 24x7.
+ You will produce high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
Basic Qualifications
+ BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
+ 1+ year(s) of management experience or 1+ year(s) of staff level engineering experience with management training.
+ 5+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and large-scale software and/or system engineering.
+ Experience programming in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages (like Java/Python/C/C++/Scala/Python/etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
+ MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
+ 2+ years of hands-on software/system engineering/technical management and people management experience.
+ 7+ years industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions.
+ 2+ years programming experience in languages such as Java, C/C++, C#, Python, Go, etc.
+ Experience designing and building infrastructure and web services at large scale.
+ Knowledge of Internet protocols and network programming.

Responsibilities:
- Define and communicate a clear product vision, strategy, and roadmap for assigned product lines.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer interviews to identify opportunities and validate product ideas.
- Translate product strategy into detailed requirements, user stories, and product specifications.
- Prioritize the product backlog and manage the product development lifecycle using agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery.
- Work with UX/UI designers to create intuitive and engaging user experiences.
- Partner with marketing and sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies and product launch plans.
- Act as the voice of the customer, advocating for user needs throughout the development process.
- Monitor product performance, gather user feedback, and iterate on products to drive continuous improvement.
- Analyze key product metrics and metrics to measure success and inform future development.
- Mentor junior product managers and contribute to the growth of the product management team.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in product management and software development.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. MBA or Master's degree is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in product management, with a significant focus on software products developed using agile methodologies.
- Demonstrated success in launching and scaling successful software products.
- Deep understanding of agile development principles and practices.
- Proven ability to define product strategy, create roadmaps, and prioritize features.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand complex technical concepts.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working effectively with remote cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Aha!).
- Experience in SaaS products is highly desirable.
- A passion for building innovative products that solve real-world problems.
