At Foxhole Technology, we are committed to pay transparency as required by law, for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $225,000-245,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors as permitted by law. Responsibilities
Position Summary: The Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist is responsible for supporting the lifecycle of software assets within the organization, ensuring compliance, optimizing costs, and assisting in procurement and deployment. This role collaborates with IT, business units, and vendors to maintain accurate records, facilitate license management, and ensure software solutions align with business needs. The SAM Specialist plays a key role in risk mitigation, software standardization, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Software Lifecycle Management:

Assist in tracking software assets from acquisition through retirement.

Ensure proper documentation of software usage, compliance, and renewals.

Maintain an up-to-date inventory of software assets and ensure alignment with IT policies.
Technical Assessment & Compliance:

Facilitate the submission and approval process for Technical Assessments (TAs).

Work with security and compliance teams to ensure software adheres to organizational and regulatory requirements.

Assist in auditing software usage and addressing licensing risks.
License Management & Optimization:

Track software licenses, ensuring compliance with agreements and avoiding overages or shortages.

Assist in resolving licensing discrepancies by working with internal teams and vendors.

Provide analysis on software consumption and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
Software Procurement & Vendor Coordination:

Support the procurement process by gathering requirements, submitting purchase requests, and tracking renewals.

Coordinate with vendors and internal procurement teams to ensure smooth acquisition and deployment of software.

Assist in maintaining vendor relationships and tracking software agreements.
Software Deployment & Change Management:

Collaborate with IT teams to ensure smooth deployment, upgrades, and removals of software.

Provide customers with upgrade paths, alternative solutions, or transition plans.

Communicate changes and software roadmaps to relevant stakeholders.
Data Analysis & Reporting:

Generate reports on software utilization, license compliance, and financial impact.

Identify trends and recommend improvements to software asset management practices.

Support strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.
Requirements
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional Preferences
Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in software asset management, IT operations, or a related field preferred

Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple software assets simultaneously.

Knowledge: Familiarity with software lifecycle management, licensing models, procurement processes, and compliance requirements.

Certifications: Certifications such as Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM), ITIL, or equivalent are a plus.
