The Senior Quality Engineer, Software will have continuous involvement and participation with the development teams to design, build, and test software products and underlying components. Review, verify and validate requirements, designs, and functionality of software. Support the development, execution and maintenance of test plans. Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience in a related field
• 7+ years of experience working in a system engineering or software quality capacity
• Ability to support software integration, as well as system and acceptance testing
• Must be familiar with Software Development Life Cycle
• Able to put together a software test plan
• Experienced in working from airline features and airline hardware configurations to set up rack configurations
• IFE experience
  

Benefits

The starting pay range for this position is $98,000 to $120,000 per year however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.

As a Software Quality Engineer , you will work closely with Product and Design partners to create innovative features and experiences.

What You'll Do

• Provide independent leadership of large product areas.
• Serve as a key resource for testing new features, diagnosing performance issues, and creating automation tests (end-to-end and performance-related).
• Serve as a role model for executing best-testing practices. Bring your valued experience to the table and help shape and educate a small team.
• Collaborate with distributed teams of designers, developers, and quality engineers to design and specify features.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of equivalent Quality Engineering (QE) industry experience.
• Experience testing complex web-based applications on Mac and Windows platforms.
• High proficiency with Photoshop.
• Passion for testing software and excitement for technology.
• Demonstrated knowledge of QE methodologies, processes, and tools.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $92,900 -- $183,800 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. About this role

With WRITER, you'll be working closely with the product and the engineering team to ship a product that tens of thousands of people rely on every day.

As a Software quality engineer, you'll be working on key parts of the QA process and defining key quality KPIs and metrics for the product. You'll drive testing efforts and lead our automation strategies, and we'll look to you for leadership on maintaining the highest bar of quality possible for all releases.

Your responsibilities

• Designing and developing automation frameworks: Creating robust, scalable, and maintainable automated test frameworks from scratch or enhancing existing ones. This often involves proficiency in languages like Typsecript, Python.
• Performance and load testing: Assessing application performance under various conditions, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Creating and maintaining test scripts: Writing automated test scripts for various levels of testing (Integration, API, end-to-end) to validate functionality, performance, and security.
• Implementing CI/CD integration: Embedding automated tests within Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback loops.
• Test planning and strategy: Developing comprehensive test plans and strategies, defining test approaches, and identifying appropriate test data.
• Defect management: Identifying, documenting, prioritizing, and tracking bugs and issues, and collaborating with development teams for timely resolution.
• Collaborating with development teams: Working closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders throughout the entire software development lifecycle to ensure quality is built in from the start ("shift-left" testing).
• Mentoring and guiding: Advising developers on unit testing best practices and promoting a culture of quality.
• Research and innovation: Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in test automation technology, tools, and methodologies.
