Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safety First! Uphold a culture of safety by ensuring strict adherence to OSHA, NFPA, state and local codes, and Strata Solar Services safety protocols. Technicians must undergo comprehensive training and demonstrate full comprehension after commencing any on-site activities.
- Develop a profound understanding of electrical theory to interpret design drawings and promptly identify and escalate any electrical safety hazards.
- Execute both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, focusing on enhancing plant performance and operational efficiency.
- Work on and around energized electrical parts. Handle energized electrical components in accordance with established electrical codes and company policies, following rigorous training sessions.
- Utilize a range of tools including multimeters, low resistance Ohmmeters, PV Analyzers, IR thermometers, IR cameras, and hand-held irradiance meters for electrical maintenance duties.
- Conduct pre-job safety briefings and ensure compliance with all safety procedures after commencing work.
- Attend training sessions at local and remote facilities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Travel to remote sites within the operating fleet to provide assistance and ensure successful project completion.
- Implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to maintain compliance with electrical isolation protocols.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose common Direct Current (DC) faults within the PV plant.
- Complete and submit all assigned inspection and testing data promptly and accurately.
- Document all completed work using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and other organizational platforms.
- Extract data files, troubleshoot communication issues, and operate monitoring software using PCs or tablets. Provision replacement devices and share photos via service tickets.
- Conduct basic networking, such as changing IP addresses on laptop to connect with equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Environmental Responsibilities:
- Will participate in the environmental compliance program, maintain administrative records of regulated hazardous and non-hazardous waste, conduct routine inspections, and support emergency response operations.
- Assists maintaining compliance with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience working with energized AC or DC systems, or other relevant experience preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate basic working knowledge of electrical theory & PV power generating system fundamentals.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.
- Aptitude for learning and understanding operation of various testing equipment, tools and procedures utilized in the maintenance of PV power generation systems.

Position is a long term contract role (minimum 3 year position) with the chance to be hired on. Pay is $33 per hour and position comes with full benefits including Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance, 8 Paid Holidays, 3 weeks of PTO, 401K, and weekly pay! You will be working on a utility scale solar farm providing service, maintenance, warranty remediation and commissioning for installed photovoltaic inverters, energy storage, plant controls, DC, panels, substation work (most of it is contracted out to an internal team), disconnects, LBD's, etc. This is all on-site at a Solar Farm in Andrews. You must live within 1 hours of Andrews, TX
Responsibilities to include:
- Perform Field Service to ensure 99% up time
- Diagnose and repair faulted inverters and energy storage systems
- Troubleshoot issues with mechanical, electromechanical, and controls
- Conduct annual periodic maintenance inspections
- Keep maintenance records of findings
- Assist with developing maintenance programs
- Perform start-up and commissioning for new PV inverter & energy storage installations.
- Inspect physical installation (wiring, connections and mechanical condition)
- Power up, set all required parameters and ensure proper operation
- Monitor performance and efficiency levels
- Maintain high customer satisfaction levels by providing excellent customer service.
- Provide accurate and timely product service reports.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Minimum of 1 year industry work experience with commercial inverters

SUMMARY
The Solar Operations Technician is responsible for the operation of site equipment and systems on multiple plants in a safe, reliable, efficient, and environmentally correct manner. Performs safe and reliable operation of the Solar PV and Battery facility equipment and other power plant systems. Performs inspection of watch, operation, and troubleshooting of all site equipment and systems. Optimize site performance in full compliance with operating agreements, all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned as needed)
- Executes site permitting processes, including ensuring completeness of pre-job safety briefs, and managing LOTO process.
- Observe and monitor overall site operations, ensuring power production is maintained at optimal level and efficiency. Coordinate with Operating Control Team, off-takers, and suppliers to ensure safe and optimal operations.
- Report normal, abnormal, or emergency plant conditions to site Leadership and Management. Take all necessary corrective action(s) in accordance with established policy, procedure, or at the direction of site leadership.
- Executes site restoration after abnormal events and significant outages.
- Performs troubleshooting and operational systems and equipment resets, as applicable.
- Performs inspections of computer, substation and electrical systems, as applicable, to support operating agreements and system reliability.
