THE POSITION

The Network Solution Design Specialist will focus on customer service for the DISN Consolidated Provisioning effort at the Columbus, Ohio location. This role covers the entire provisioning process, from order entry and preparation to solution design and circuit activation. The Solution Design Specialist will also participate in customer outreach, Quality of Service (QoS) configuration, commercial leasing activities, and facilities network solution development. They will be responsible for ensuring the DISN network infrastructure is functional, efficient, and available to meet operational needs for mission partners.

The incumbent will be responsible for the business architecture of Risk Capabilities within American Express. This is a business & technology facing role, mapping business process to capabilities, providing E2E solution for the prioritized features using program increments, ensuring flexible and global system/capability design and 1-2 year capability roadmap including performance, availability and test automation. The role involves working with product managers, business managers and engineering leaders to convert the business idea/vision into a development roadmap.
The incumbent will also be responsible for multi-year strategy to modernize platforms within American Express, along with day-to-day solution management cadence in SAFE (Scaled Agile) framework across 4 different ART's (Agile Release Trains) New Accounts, Line Management, Authorizations and Collections processes. The successful individual ensures that the platform transformations meet the evolving needs of risk management through continual innovation, global/flexible design for new use cases to fuel growth, reduce time to market and manage losses. Requires strong organizational, technical and creative problem-solving skills. Requires strong stakeholder management and ability to influence across multiple levels of leadership. This Sr Manager, B2B Pre-Sales and Solution Design is responsible for technical solutioning for client and partner opportunities and strategic priorities. Focus areas will be virtual cards, API and FinTech integration, embedded payments, and Agentic Commerce. The position will provide expertise to solution for new areas of opportunity that may include new use cases, FinTech constructs or verticals. As the payments landscape rapidly evolves, it’s imperative that we have specific, deep knowledge of our capabilities to drive solutioning, leveraging VCS, and products and capabilities across the Visa enterprise. This role strives to bring the best of Visa and to ensure delivery of best-in-class solutions for our clients and partners.

You will work closely with clients, internal stakeholders, and external partners to translate market needs into actionable product strategies. This role requires a results-driven professional who excels at managing complex projects and delivering impactful solutions. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional that understands both the business and technical aspects of payments and has a track record of delivering solutions that exceed client expectations. This role requires strategic thinking, innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. The candidate must be creative and hands-on, have a bias towards action and inspire others with their vision.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the scoping and technical solutioning with clients and partners with a focus on virtual card concepts, FinTech API integrations, embedded payments, and agentic commerce.
  • Bring breadth of knowledge and technical expertise to solution for new use cases and verticals. Pinpoint and enable use cases related to commercial applications with the goal of scaling. Identify ways to implement existing products to solve new business problems and capture requirements for areas that require development.
  • Act as a global subject matter expert on topics such as virtual cards, embedded payments, and agentic commerce.
  • Conduct focused workshops and discovery sessions to gather insights and define solution requirements.
  • Develop detailed requirements and business cases and collaborate with Product teams to prioritise resource effectively across initiatives.
  • Translate client needs into actionable plans that guide internal product development efforts.
  • Identify common client needs and develop solutions leveraging the best of Visa’s and third-party partners’ capabilities.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams to align on solution delivery and define go-to-market approach, collateral, and ensure market readiness.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on progress, challenges, and outcomes.
  • Confidently present and articulate the business value of proposed solutions to business managers and executives.
  • Collaborate with diverse internal and external partners to develop, sell, and deliver solutions.
  • Partner with Sales and solution teams in region to close deals, identify best-in-class ways to implement existing products to solve new business problems and capture requirements for areas that require development.
