Salary Range: $245,000 $340,000 base + bonus (lockstep based on 46 years post-JD)
About the Opportunity
Our client, a top-tier AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking a Transactional Copyright Associate to join its nationally respected Music Industry Practice. This opportunity is ideal for attorneys with 46 years of experience handling complex intellectual property transactions especially those involving licensing, purchase, or sale of music rights and other IP assets.
The ideal candidate brings a high level of detail orientation, creativity in problem solving, and a collaborative mindset. Youll work with major players across the music and entertainment sectors and help structure deals that shape the future of intellectual property law.
What Youll Do
Negotiate and draft a wide variety of music and IP-related agreements
Advise clients on copyright law, rights transfers, and licensing issues
Lead transactions from strategy to execution with limited oversight
Collaborate with entertainment industry leaders and internal firm stakeholders
Deliver innovative legal solutions for a broad range of music/IP matters
What You Bring
46 years of transactional experience (law firm or in-house)
Deep familiarity with U.S. copyright law and IP licensing frameworks
Experience in music, media, or entertainment industries (preferred)
Strong drafting, negotiation, and client relationship skills
JD from a top-tier law school; active bar admission in NY or MA

Description of Work Unit
The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance ( SMTD ) at Colorado State Universityempowers students to create, collaborate, innovate, and inspire. Through teaching, creative artistry, research, advocacy, and service,we elevate arts education. SMTD has 46 tenured and tenure-track faculty as well as 55 contract, continuing and adjunct faculty. There are currently over 550 students in SMTD , with 375 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in residential and online music degree programs.
SMTD is housed in the University Center for the Arts, a nationally recognized state-of the art 350,000 square foot facility, that includes a 550-seat concert hall, a 275-seat organ and chamber music recital hall, a 320-seat thrust theatre, a 100-seat black box theatre, a 200-seat dance theatre, dedicated rehearsal, production and research spaces, along with classrooms, labs and practice rooms.

Position Summary
The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance may seek full time or part time, temporary Music Instructors to teach music industry courses in the music division, and in administrative roles coordinating special programs and developing curricula.
Applicants are added to the pool list throughout the calendar year. Hiring decisions are made during the late spring and early summer for fall semester, during the early fall semester for spring and during the spring semester for the summer term.

Required Job Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Industry, Music Business or other field related to music industry, plus five years of significant professional experience in the music industry, which could include but is not limited to song writing, music publishing, copyright law, music production, audio engineering, music production, digital media, popular music history, depending on the course being taught at CSU .
Preferred Job Qualifications
+ Advanced experience in the field within the industry.
+ Documented teaching experience at the college or university level.
+ Master's degree in Music, Music Industry, Music Business or other field related to music industry.

Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the client's financial records. This individual will support monthly close processes, reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, and assist with royalty accounting and reporting specific to the music industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end close
- Reconcile general ledger accounts for multiple clients
- Assist with preparing financial statements and internal reports
- Support accounts payable and receivable functions for multiple entities
- Maintain and organize financial records and documentation
- Identify and suggest process improvements for efficiency and accuracy
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and music industry trends affecting financial reporting
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1+ years of accounting experience (entertainment or music industry experience not required)
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
