Sony Pictures Television Studios (SPTS) is one of the industry's leading content providers, producing programming worldwide across genres and platforms. As the largest independent TV studio in the industry, SPTS produces 50+ shows each year including THE BOYS, COBRA KAI, THE GOOD DOCTOR, OUTLANDER, and PLATONIC. The SPT Marketing Organization at Sony Pictures Television supports the entire lifecycle of our series, from supporting the initial sale with pitch materials, to collaborating with first window platform partners on marketing campaigns, to creating and managing marketing assets with Distribution teams.
The VP, Brand Marketing will be responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of our TV brands (series), interacting with internal and external stakeholders to increase awareness, tune-in, and brand exposure. Franchise building and consumer activation is key to driving business results throughout the multi-windowed lifespan of our SPT series. The VP will report into the EVP, Marketing and Franchise Management managing and developing a team, serving as the TV strategic marketing expert across all Sony TV IP.
Responsibilities
+ Lead and inspire a Brand Marketing team of 6+, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture through hands-on mentorship and strategic direction.
+ Build a team admired internally and externally for its professionalism, creativity, results and establish clear roles and responsibilities with pathways for growth and continued learning.
+ Hands on, develop and execute the overall SPT brand marketing strategy across all television IP-including original and legacy properties, across adult live action, comedy, animation and kids with the goal of driving successful launch campaigns, sales efforts, and long-term value for the underlying IP.
+ Maintain a prioritization map, marketing development calendar and budgets in partnership with leadership and marketing operations to ensure focus and alignment across titles, budgets and tracking.
+ Establish strong and influential relationships with streamer marketing teams establishing efficient trusted processes for reviewing and providing studio input and approvals on platform partners' campaigns.
+ Leverage data and commission insights to inform marketing strategies, define target audiences, shape creative direction, and evaluate return on investment (ROI).
+ Identify opportunities for incremental marketing support beyond platform campaigns-developing social-first paid media plans that drive long-term IP value.
+ Partner with creative executives to gain early insights into content, align with producers and develop an important liaison critical to creating a strong campaign.
+ Serve as an expert in social and influencer marketing with expert understanding of strategies that drive engagement across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
+ Stay ahead of emerging platforms and trends and encourage calculated innovation within the team.
+ Create workflows that allow the team to manage all internal processes - brand clearances, product integrations, international marketing/sales, and others as needed by series always striving to make things more efficient.
+ Cultivate passionate audiences and build fan ecosystems that support new launches and reinvigorate library titles-tapping into SPT's broader Synergy Ecosystem.
+ Partner with franchise leads to develop 360 sustain plans and franchise strategies for high-potential IP.
+ Guide the creative development process with internal teams and external agencies, managing timelines, deliverables, and brand alignment.
+ Justify and strategize event activations and promotional partnerships that enhance campaign and IP value.
+ Work closely with SPT Distribution teams to ensure alignment, asset coordination, and long-term brand value creation.
Qualifications
+ 12+ years of relevant experience
+ Expert in television marketing; experience working with or for a streamer developing campaigns targeted at adults is a must.
+ A television fan that watches, works and love series format with a deep understanding of media and entertainment business and a leader in the field, with understanding of all industry trends
+ Effective leader, able to grow and scale an organization. A team leader with an expertise in building efficient and productive teams. Someone who can build cross-functional relationships across multiple teams with an ability to influence key stakeholders
+ A strong problem-solver that doesn't wait for a solution, but seeks to resolve difficult problems with win-win strategies.
+ Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills - ability to use data to help execute optimized strategies, those that push the team and the studio beyond
+ Strong project management skills with an ability to multitask across a plethora of projects
+ Knowledge of marketing analytics tools and best practices, an AI enthusiast that sees how the tool can benefit a marketing organization

This newly created role will lead the creative marketing team (following an internal agency model: creative/social, production, design and operations) within Sony Pictures Television Studios (SPTS). Reporting to the EVP Franchise Management, we are looking for an experienced studio and social creative director. The SVP will take direction from the Brand Marketing team to shape and elevate the brand vision, voice, strategy for all SPTS IP. The SVP will work closely with streaming and linear partners to influence and best represent the studio marketing input on all platform launch campaigns and activations. The SVP will build a best-in-class studio marketing team resourcing internal and external talent, refining workflows, creating efficiencies and leading the creative, vision, strategy and execution for all SPTS titles.
In addition to having a passion for all types of television content, this individual also has their finger on the pulse of pop culture and social trends in design, marketing and advertising. They are passionate about strategic branding, social and creative. A skilled storyteller, the ideal candidate is able to move our business forward through strategic creative and is interested in entering, creating and sustaining an informed dialogue with fans from existing platforms as well as discovering additional avenues to expand, engage and sustain audiences.
Responsibilities
+ Evolve a team of 15+ marketing leads across marketing operations, production, creative design, video/social production, event activations and other key areas of marketing into a high performing team capable of overseeing 20+ active series serving live action, animation and kid's content.
+ Strategize, ideate and execute effective 360 marketing campaigns and branding initiatives for television driven IP with a focus on adult targeted series premiering across all the major streamers.
+ Develop strong and influential relationships with streaming and linear partners demonstrating the value of studio marketing in the content ecosystem.
+ Pivot the team to a social first marketing organization specializing in cultivating fandom through a deep understanding of all relevant social platforms, creative formats, influencer programs and other high ROI initiatives coupled with efficient content capture, original content production capabilities.
+ Create an efficient marketing operations team implementing process across on-set shoots, approvals, project management and asset management leveraging efficient software and technology to drive efficiencies.
+ Balance internal and external resources to maximize tight budgets while driving innovation.
+ Lead creative on all event activations like San Diego Comic Con.
+ Support the Franchise Management team in elevating series IP to revenue generating businesses including creating content strategies that sustain IP in between seasons.

Requirements:
+ Seasoned creative television/streaming marketing division head with 15+ years of experience leading a team across creative, production and operations in an agency-type environment with the ability to balance internal and external resources to deliver on-time and on-budget.
+ Demonstrated success creating the creative vision for successful streaming campaigns for adult-targeted series steering the strategy and execution of all elements such as key art, trailers, social content, activations, etc. (Streaming campaign experience a must).
+ Flexible to work across multiple genres from live action drama, comedy to animation to kids in an entrepreneurial environment that requires proactive initiative and follow through.
+ Proven experience working with producers, creators, and actors and ability to negotiate and influence challenging creative differences.
+ Adept at creative/ business strategy and modeling with strong knowledge of global asset management (pipeline, workflow, distribution, analytics) with a mind-set to test new AI platforms and track ROI.
+ Implement analytics and research to constantly evaluate and adapt campaigns in a dynamic industry environment.
+ Deep knowledge of artistic talent with ability to leverage global industry relationships and create opportunities to collaborate in order to set the highest creative standard
