This role demands exceptional technical expertise, a keen ear for detail, and the ability to manage sound recording on complex sets. You will be responsible for capturing high-quality dialogue and ambient sound, ensuring seamless integration with post-production workflows.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the sound recording department on set, overseeing all aspects of audio capture.
  • Operate professional audio equipment, including mixers, wireless systems, boom microphones, and recorders.
  • Set up and manage microphone placement for optimal dialogue clarity and minimize unwanted noise.
  • Monitor audio levels and quality continuously throughout takes, making real-time adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with directors, camera operators, and boom operators to ensure seamless integration of sound and visuals.

This role is critical in shaping the immersive auditory experience of our upcoming AAA titles. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to craft compelling soundscapes, design realistic and impactful sound effects, and expertly implement audio within game engines. This is a hybrid position, requiring a balance of in-studio collaboration and remote work flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, create, and implement high-quality sound effects, ambient environments, and interactive audio for video games.
  • Collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and engineers to define and achieve the audio vision for the project.
  • Record, edit, and mix audio assets, ensuring consistency in quality and technical specifications.
  • Utilize industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) and audio middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD).
  • Develop and maintain audio systems within the game engine, ensuring efficient and effective audio playback.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve audio-related bugs and technical issues.
  • Mentor and guide junior sound designers, providing feedback and fostering skill development.
  • Contribute to the overall audio direction and conceptualization of game projects.
  • Manage audio assets, ensuring proper organization and version control.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in game audio technology and techniques.
  • Participate in playtesting sessions to evaluate and refine the audio experience.
  • Conduct field recordings and Foley sessions as needed.
  • Create compelling voice-over direction and editing, if required.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in sound design for video games, with a portfolio showcasing AAA titles.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard DAWs such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Cubase.
  • Extensive experience with audio middleware like Wwise or FMOD.
  • Strong understanding of game engine technology (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity).
  • Excellent understanding of acoustics, psychoacoustics, and sound synthesis.
  • Experience with recording equipment and techniques.
  • Strong creative and artistic vision with a keen ear for detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a hybrid environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
