Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises clinical activities and medical personnel while on duty.
  • Evaluates all patients referred for presence of mental illness.
  • Treats all patients requiring psychiatric intervention.
  • Refers patients as necessary.
  • Reviews and adjusts as necessary all maintenance medications at a minimum of once each thirty (30) days.
  • Provides emergency psychiatric care as required.
  • Provides in-service education for medical and correctional staffs as requested.
  • Documents all services provided in the patient's medical file.
  • Participates in review of the quality of care provided.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school with specialty training in psychiatry.
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the state in which the Facility is located.
  • One (1) year of clinical experience.
  • Submit a copy of professional license and certificate of professional liability insurance coverage at the time of hire. Copy of professional license to remain on file at the Facility where services are rendered at all times.
  • Assume sole responsibility for professional liability insurance.
  • Maintain a current DPS and DEA Certificate of Registration.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

  • General Gastroenterology

  • GI Hospitalists

The ideal candidates will:

  • Serve as an Attending Physician providing medical care in Gastroenterology in both inpatient and outpatient settings (where applicable)
  • Participate in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Contribute to the development of our GI programs

As a physician in the Division of Gastroenterology at South Shore University Hospital, you will have the opportunity to engage in our Internal Medicine Residency with 18 residents, and our future GI Fellowship program kicking off in 2026. Account Level:

Seek out creative opportunities to build brands.

Territory management:

Work your plan. Continuously assess cold/warm/hot opportunities, prioritize your time and activity accordingly, hit your targets.
