Job Title: Landfill Gas Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Landfill Gas Technician to support our Operations and Maintenance (O&M) efforts. The role involves analyzing landfill well data using an data tracking system, maintaining pumps by pulling, rebuilding, troubleshooting, and replacing them, and managing SEMs (surface emission monitoring). The technician will have access to company equipment and vehicles.
Responsibilities
+ Analyze landfill well data using a data tracking system.
+ Perform pump maintenance including pulling, rebuilding, troubleshooting, and replacing.
+ Read and tune landfill gas systems.
+ Manage SEMs and probes effectively.
+ Ensure accurate data collection and entry.
+ Conduct field sampling and environmental testing.
Essential Skills
+ Experience working in an outdoor worksite in an environmental or civil capacity.
+ Data entry proficiency.
+ Mechanical experience.
+ Knowledge of landfill gas tuning and reading.
+ OSHA 40HR HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ ISCO pipe fusion certification is a plus.
+ Experience with data collection in the environmental field.

The technician will work across three landfill gas sites, including Johnston, RI, and two additional landfill sites within an hour's drive. The company is the largest environmental engineering firm supporting landfill gas projects across the US. Pay and Benefits

-The individual will be responsible for supporting and leading the technical demands of the site's gas or chemical equipment. They will ensure compliance with operation and maintenance procedures, emergency preparedness, and drive flawless execution.
-Support and lead the technical challenges for over 2000 pieces of distribution equipment of various types and vendors.
-Ensure compliance when writing, editing, and executing operating and maintenance procedures and drive a ZERO safety or quality incident culture.
-Support installing, decommissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing all client Gas Systems, Applied Energy Systems gas systems, Fuji liquid delivery systems, Air Liquide Gas, and Chemical systems.
- Handling and change-out of gas, chemical, and slurry containers
- Gas and chemical equipment troubleshooting and preventative/repair maintenance
- Computer operations to support job functions and customer needs
- Support of quality systems
- Primary communication point to the customer

ROLE & SCOPE:
The Gas Service Technician is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining gas meters, regulators, gas lines and gas appliances. Testing for gas leaks. Working on boilers, ovens, gas fireplaces, gas-fired refrigerators, hydronic heating systems, and related. Installing and connecting appliances to gas, water, and electrical supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School Education or equivalent
2. Must have 2 years of related mechanical experience, gas utility experience preferred.
3. Must have a valid driver's license and a history of safe driving.
4. This position will require the satisfactory completion of a physical pre-screening, completion of company training programs, evaluations and written test.
5. Qualified applicants must pass a pre-employment/pre-placement drug test in accordance with D.O.T regulations.
6. Ability and willingness to perform heavy physical work indoors and outdoors in all seasons and at times for extended periods.
7. Must have a work history that demonstrates safe work habits.
