A Brief Overview
The Process Specialist assists with technical support for production lines, training for Line Technicians and
Operators, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. This role ensures the optimization of production
processes while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards in a fast-paced manufacturing
environment.
What you will do
· Serves as the point person for technical support on designated production lines.
· Creates and delivers training programs for Operators and Line Technicians across all shifts.
· Attends daily production meetings and follows up on equipment and training issues.
· Implements and maintains centerline data and equipment setup sheets for designated areas.
· Leads continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production rates and quality while reducing costs.
· Maintains 5S standards and ensures T-60 documentation is current and actively used.
· Develops best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to optimize manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and coordinating CMM programs to ensure precise measurements of all hardware on the shop floor, ensuring that all components meet the highest quality standards. This role requires a basic understanding of Zeiss Calypso software, CMM programming, and a background in precision measurement techniques. Essential Functions:
- Programming and Coordination: Develop, test, and implement CMM programs using Zeiss Calypso software to measure complex components and assemblies.

Aerojet Rocketdyne segment of L3Harris, is seeking a knowledgeable Zeiss Calypso Programmer to join our Precision Measurement Room (PMR) team at our Canoga Park, CA facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and coordinating CMM programs to ensure precise measurements of all hardware on the shop floor, ensuring that all components meet the highest quality standards. This role requires a basic understanding of Zeiss Calypso software, CMM programming, and a background in precision measurement techniques. Additionally, the candidate must be capable of supporting the CMM programming process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Essential Functions:
- Programming and Coordination: Develop, test, and implement CMM programs using Zeiss Calypso software to measure complex components and assemblies.
- Process Development: Support the CMM programming process to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in measurements.
- Technical Support: Assist inspectors and other individuals at the company with inspection techniques, providing guidance on the advantages and disadvantages of each technique.
- Data Analysis: Analyze measurement data and generate detailed reports, highlighting any discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of measurement data and inspection reports.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to address measurement-related issues and improve overall product quality.
- Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to other team members on the use of Zeiss Calypso software and CMM equipment.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in measurement techniques and CMM programming.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant quality experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related quality experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related quality experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Zeiss Calypso software.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex measurement data and identify root causes of discrepancies.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to generate clear and concise reports.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in measurement and reporting.
- Self-Starter: Ability to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact with minimal supervision.
- Certifications:
- CMM certifications on Zeiss Calypso.
- Other technologies/inspection instrumentation.
- Structured Light Systems: Experience using structured light machines and performing analysis preferably using the Zeiss Inspection Software.
- Optical Inspection CMM: Experience with a Zeiss O-Inspect (Optical Inspection) CMM.
- Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
- Project Management: Experience in managing measurement projects and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $94,000 - $175,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
