We are seeking a skilled PySpark / SQL Engineer to support our Threat Detection team in building and migrating security analytics pipelines using Databricks. This role will focus on a platform migration project, moving detection rules and associated content from a legacy system into Databricks' native detection framework. You will be responsible for creating equivalent PySpark log pipelines, rule configuration files, unit tests, and data validation checks, and deploying these pipelines using Terraform. A strong background in data engineering, particularly with large-scale log analytics, is essential.
Requirements
5-10+ years of experience as a PySpark / SQL Engineer, with a strong focus on data engineering and analytics.
Prior experience in building threat detection or log analytics pipelines using PySpark, SQL, and Databricks.
Hands-on experience with Terraform for deploying data infrastructure.
Proficient in PySpark for large-scale data processing and transformation.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is preferred.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when working with complex datasets.

Responsibilities- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance on Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and higher.
- Assist in the development and implementation of enterprise database backup, recovery, and failover procedure.
- Serve as a liaison for database related queries and technical support between NOC and customers.
- Triage Network Operation Center level server ticket utilizing Web Help Desk.
- Provide intermediate level network support and troubleshooting.
- Provide support, administration, and maintenance for AFRL Rocket Lab specialized information systems.
- Daily monitor of network and storage devices.
- Monitor and maintain uninterruptible power supply (UPS) devices.

Qualifications
Required :
- Minimum of Five (5) years of MS SQL Server and SQL scripting experience including SQL and T-SQL.
- Must satisfy IAT-11 certification requirements (CompTIA Security + CE certification)
- Experience creating packages, procedures, and functions on SQL.
- Ability to create and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Favorable current Tier 1 (or higher) or an Interim SECRET (or higher) security clearance
- Experience authoring, managing, and deploying solutions using Microsoft Server Manager (MSM).
- Experience in data integration and/or knowledge of concepts and strategies and data preparation and curation for data warehousing and/or knowledge of concepts and strategies.

Minimum Qualifications:
+ Minimum six (6) years experience programming with SAS, SQL, R or other similar analytical programming language.
+ Minimum five (5) years data management experience with SAS, SQL, R or other similar analytical programming language.
+ Minimum three (3) years experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
+ Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Social/Physical/Life Science, Business, or related field and Minimum eight (8) years experience in data analytics or a directly related field. Additional equivalent work experience in a directly related field may be substituted for the degree requirement.
