Job Summary
Castalia Systems is currently searching for a SQL Database Administrator with a strong background in Systems Administration to be a part of a team responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of a custom, off-line, DoD IT network. Roles and Responsibilities

The Opportunity:
CACI is looking for a skilled SQL Database Administrator in support of the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Enterprise IT as a Service (EITaaS) program. The candidate will join a team of engineers responsible for designing and implementing an enterprise Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) Solution. The SQL Admin will primarily be responsible for managing the Microsoft SQL Server backend for the application. The UEM solution shall be capable of managing all Windows and BYOAD endpoints.
On the EITaaS program, CACI will deliver enhanced capabilities and services to implement and operate an enterprise ITSM solution, enterprise service desk, endpoint management and security solution, as well as CONUS/OCONUS field support and life cycle support for end user devices to enable the DAF to transition focus from IT operations to mission operations.
Responsibilities:

Collaborating with other administrators and analysts to enhance development of actionable business intelligence, troubleshoot performance issues, and combat threats

Educating management and peers about SQL related issues

Maintaining compliance with security regulations and guidelines

Provide expertise on technical capabilities related to running and operating SQL databases.

Develop the technical solutions, implement them, and perform integration and functional testing.

Provide communication to appropriate stakeholders to keep them informed and aware of ongoing support challenges.

Create and manage scripts and workflows/flows.

Build dashboards based on application data models and external data sources.

Address problems of systems integration, compatibility and multiple platforms.

Participate in development of system documentation and technical reports.

Participates in Agile ceremonies and backlog refinement.
Qualifications:
Required:

12+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor's Degree in relevant field may be substituted for 5 years of relevant experience).

Active Secret clearance

6+ Years of demonstrated experience with engineering, deploying, maintaining, and utilizing SQL and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Windows Clustering, and Active Directory

Demonstrated knowledge of T-SQL and database environments
-
Ability to research and clearly articulate, verbally and in writing, recommended solutions
-
Demonstrated aptitude for analytical thinking, problem-solving, and working multiple tasks concurrently

SQL Server Database Administrator
Responsibilities
Shift4 Payments is expanding globally and seeking a skilled and motivated SQL Server DBA to join our DBA team, supporting the management of critical SQL Server databases that power our payments platform.
The SQL Server DBA will work under the guidance of the DBA Team Manager to ensure the health, performance, and security of SQL Server databases across geographically diverse data centers. This role involves hands-on database administration, performance tuning, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support Shift4's payments platform and its growth in existing and new markets.
This role is onsite based at Shift4's Las Vegas, NV location.
Relocation assistance may be available.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and tune SQL Server database performance, including optimizing configurations, indexing, and queries to ensure high availability and efficiency.
- Implement and maintain security measures for SQL Server databases to comply with regulations such as PCI DSS, SOX, and GDPR, including access controls and encryption.
- Execute backup and recovery strategies for SQL Server databases to ensure data integrity and support business continuity, including participating in disaster recovery testing.
- Collaborate with the DBA team and other stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and reliable service.
- Work with Research and Development (R&D) teams to design and optimize efficient SQL Server database queries, adhering to best practices for performance and scalability.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for production SQL Server databases, following established protocols for incident response and resolution.
- Stay updated on SQL Server technologies and best practices, contributing to team knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement.
- 3+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA experience, preferably in the payments or banking industry, supporting production database administration within PCI scope.
- Strong understanding of SQL Server performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong English communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work day shift EST work hours.
