KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design and develop experiment protocols to evaluate thermal systems and/or their individual components such as heat exchangers (e.g. air-to-refrigerants, liquid-to-refrigerant) and compressors (e.g. reciprocating, scrolls, and rotary)
• Work as a team with experimentalists to get the necessary data and validation of modelling results with laboratory data
• Oversee the upkeep of existing environmental chambers and address any issues related to experimental setups.

• People Management responsibilities include: i) research technician supervision, hiring, payroll and overtime handling, ii) coordination with lab scientists and engineers and iii) union/management relations.

The annual base salary range for this position is $132,000-$165,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Join Honeywell as an Sr. Advanced R&D Engineer who will lead lab management efforts including aspects of safety, lab inventory, and research technician supervision. You will be part of the Applications R&D team that identifies and develops new Low GWP solutions HVAC&R and Automotive AC/HP. The position will be based in Buffalo NY, USA (Buffalo Research Laboratories).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design and develop experiment protocols to evaluate thermal systems and/or their individual components such as heat exchangers (e.g. air-to-refrigerants, liquid-to-refrigerant) and compressors (e.g. reciprocating, scrolls, and rotary)
• Work as a team with experimentalists to get the necessary data and validation of modelling results with laboratory data
• Oversee the upkeep of existing environmental chambers and address any issues related to experimental setups.
• Program and manage data loggers as well as develop PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming for lab operations.
• People Management responsibilities include: i) research technician supervision, hiring, payroll and overtime handling, ii) coordination with lab scientists and engineers and iii) union/management relations.
• Lab Management responsibilities include: i) inventory management (chemicals and other lab consumables), ii) lab equipment/instrumentation stock maintenance and procurement, iii) purchasing coordination and purchase order follow-up, and iv) identify and implement processes to improve lab efficiency, productivity and laboratory space usage as well as lead and coordinate laboratory renovations as needed.
• Laboratory Safety activities include: i) manage/audit status of SOPs, JSAs, project permits and lab inspections, ii) maintain HSE communication pipeline and represent refrigerants group in related meetings, iii) facilitate safety meeting statistics and reporting for the refrigerants group, and iv) establish processes and coordinate with research technicians, scientists and engineers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements as directed by HSE management and site leadership.About Us
