- Evangelize technical benefits of SMI Enterprise controllers and various business models at the platform level.
- Create preference for SMI products within the platform and enable customer adoption of solutions.
- Advocate technical customer needs to internal stakeholders.
- Drive internal teams to deliver to customer expectations.
- Participate in customer meetings and presentations, acting as technical adviser, consultant, analyst, and program manager for customer technical interactions in collaboration with SMI PM teams.
- Establish strong relationships with customers and partners to deliver results and achieve team business objectives in data center/enterprise segments.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of work experience in software/firmware applications engineering.
- Experience in SSD controller/firmware architecture.
- Experience with PCIe and NVMe protocols in firmware development and debugging, including but not limited to host reset, power management, namespace, MSI-X, SMBus, ARP, NVMe commands, etc.
- Experience in analyzing PCIe protocol traces to identify root causes for front-end issues.
- Experience in the storage industry in SSD, HDD, storage systems, or related technologies.
- Strong experience in C/C++ programming and data structures.
- Hands-on experience with JTAG/ICE debuggers.
- Experience with version control software like Git.
- Competent to work independently as well as in a small team collaboration environment.
- Willingness to learn quickly and execute as a team player.
- Good oral, written, and presentation skills for communication and documentation.
- Ability to work independently with a minimum of day-to-day supervision.
- Ability to operate logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and bus protocol analyzers is valuable.
- Experience with hardware peripherals, features, and development environments is also valuable.

As a QRA SSD RMA Engineer, you will lead formal failure analysis efforts on customer-returned SSDs, identifying root causes at both the electrical and physical levels. You will manage critical RMA cases, produce detailed reports, and serve as a technical liaison to internal and external stakeholders.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Perform electrical and mechanical failure analysis on returned SSDs
+ Generate and communicate comprehensive FA reports to internal and external teams
+ Lead escalations for RMA cases, ensuring timely resolution and updates
+ Set up and manage debug systems for DOE and error replication
+ Provide technical consultation and support to customer-facing teams
**Minimum Qualifications:**

We are currently hiring a Senior Firmware Engineer to take on the role of Team Lead for our firmware group. This position blends hands-on embedded firmware development with technical leadership and strategic oversight. You will lead a dedicated team in the design, development, and optimization of firmware for our cutting-edge cybersecure hardware products. Working closely with cross-functional teams—including hardware, FPGA, and cybersecurity engineers—you will help define and deliver secure, high-performance, real-time firmware systems on ARM and FPGA-based platforms.
Requirements
- Lead the firmware development lifecycle—from architecture and design to implementation, validation, and deployment.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers; perform technical reviews and help grow team capabilities.
- Design, develop, and maintain low-level firmware and device drivers for ARM and FPGA-based embedded platforms.
- Collaborate with hardware and FPGA engineers to define system architecture and interface layers.
- Work on secure boot processes, BSPs, and diagnostic firmware for secure SSDs and other hardware.
