**Primary Function/General Purpose of Position**
The MRI Tech is responsible for daily modality operations. They perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) according to established protocols and works closely under the direction of the Radiologist and other physicians. They are also expected to contribute to the training and onboarding of new employees and assist in supervision of MRI students.
**Essential Job Functions**
+ Completes assigned tasks in a time frame appropriate for the situation; demonstrates flexibility to fluctuation in workload.
+ Selects and operates the magnetic resonance system, surface coils, physiologic gating devices, and associated equipment to achieve desired results.
+ Applies principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patient, self, and others.
+ Properly positions the patient on the MRI scanning cradle to obtain desired anatomic position; inputs patient information and selects scan parameters for specific exam; scans patients according to established protocol and physician request; performs IV injections and has knowledge of use and care of existing IV's; administers magnetic contrast agents specific to procedure; manipulates images using a wide variety of available computer functions to optimally visualize desired anatomy; performs quality assurance tests as specified by department protocol; demonstrates and maintains clinical competency as required for the department
+ Demonstrates knowledge of direct patient care by evaluating the patient, verifying patient ID, and related information to assure appropriate procedure is performed; explains procedure to patient; prepares patient for procedure by obtaining and recording patient history and consent form (if applicable); properly screens all patients for metal safety; ensures patient comfort, privacy, and safety during procedure; monitors condition of patient and medical equipment that may be disturbed due to the nature of exam and report changes to patient care services; troubleshoots equipment during malfunction in absence of service engineer and reports malfunction to radiology maintenance/supervisor
+ Participates in the education/instruction of students and the orientation of new staff.
+ Participates in performance improvement projects; assists department in achieving successful results in all federal, state and local agency audits
+ Selects appropriate pulse sequences with consideration given to established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.
+ Maintains controlled access to the magnet room and Zone 2, 3 and 4.
+ QC duties/maintenance of QC
+ Works closely with other modalities and departments.
+ Oversees quality control duties and maintenance of quality control.

The Radiological Technologist is a certified health professional who, under the direction of an authorized user, is committed to applying the art and skill of diagnostic imaging through the safe and effective use of ionizing radiation, in diagnostic radiology.

The CT Technologist assists in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by producing diagnostic CT scans.

**Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position**
Under general supervision, assist the pharmacist in processing of medication orders by selecting, assembling, and preparing medications to be dispensed for inpatient (acute care; hospital) and/or outpatient (ambulatory; retail; home infusion) services. The Certified Pharmacy Technician will have a variety of job responsibilities within the pharmacy that may encompass various activities.
**Essential Job Functions**
*Assisting the pharmacist in preparation of medications for patients within an inpatient (acute care; hospital) and/or outpatient (ambulatory; retail; home infusion) service area. Functions include, accepting new written, faxed or electronic prescription orders from a prescriber or a prescriber's agent; accepting new verbal prescription orders for non-controlled drugs from a prescriber or a prescriber's agent as authorized by state law and responsible pharmacist authorization.
*Entering information into and retrieving information from an electronic health record or prescription processing computer system. Ensuring the accurate charge and credit functions related to medication orders are processed for patient billing.
*Preparing and affixing labels; stocking prescription drugs and retrieving those drugs from inventory locations; counting and pouring drugs into containers prior to dispensing by a pharmacist; performing non-sterile drug compounding as defined under guidelines published by United States Pharmacopeia
*Stocking automated drug dispensing cabinets, floor stock, and crash carts; Transport of medications by vehicle to off-site locations. Operating technology used for drug dispensing (robotics)
*As permitted by state law/regulations: Accepting verbal refill authorizations for dangerous drugs that are not controlled substances from a prescriber or the prescriber's agent, so long as there is no change from the original prescription and clarifying prescriptions when no professional judgment is needed; Sending or receiving copies of non-controlled prescriptions (i.e. Prescription transfers). Technician checking of associate technician work prior to dispensing.
*Assisting in the education and precepting of new pharmacy technicians, pharmacy students and participation in performance improvement activities.
*Outpatient: Packaging and selling a prescription drug to a patient or patient representative and assisting with insurance claim processing. Performing diagnostic laboratory testing as defined in state laws/guidelines.
*Inpatient/Home infusion: Performing sterile drug compounding as defined under guidelines published by United States Pharmacopeia and infection-control procedures

**SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:**
The Clerical Associate in Radiology works under the direction of the Office Supervisor in conjunction with the Radiology Manager. Answers incoming calls, takes accurate messages, and exhibits excellent customer service communication skills. Responsible for operating all necessary information systems to include scheduling patient procedures in computerized scheduling system and/or manually required. Obtains information to determine medical necessity is present for all testing prior to scheduling of exam(s). The Clerical Associate consults Radiologists, Technologists, or Management as needed to schedule. Is able to make efficient decisions with information given, following proper protocol when scheduling exam. Works well in a high volume area while performing multi-tasks. Is proficient and possesses knowledge of all computer applications relating to Radiology functions. Must be able to perform all secretarial/typing tasks as required. Is flexible with schedule to meet the operations needed for Radiology. Performs other duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE** :

+ Answers incoming radiology department telephone calls. Identifies self and department. Triages calls appropriately, and exhibits excellent customer service skills in answering and handling the telephone calls. Receives, screens, and delivers all messages to proper staff members.
+ Maintains patient confidentiality and uses discretion when discussing patient matters. Maintains strict confidentiality on all physician-related calls. Performs medical necessity following protocol to ensure appropriate reimbursements. When not able to obtain, follows appropriate steps (i.e., re-schedule, discussion of ABN, alternate medically necessary testing) when scheduling patients for radiology procedures. + Schedules tests in the computerized scheduling system accurately following protocol. Consults appropriately as needed to confirm a schedule issue or patient prep issue. Responsible for maintaining written physician orders and delivering to appropriate registration sites prior to time of service. Documents in scheduling system status of written orders. Coordinates the schedule with other department procedures, best accommodates the needs of the patient, physicians' offices, and nursing units to operationally meet the demands of the Radiology Department. Proficiently retrieves lab work results on specific Radiology patients prior to exam. Handles patient's films according to standardized coding and filing system. Directs to the Radiology Administrator, Department Chairman, and manager(s) any unusual concerns, situations, or conditions relative to staff, patients, and physicians. Provides secretarial support to management with taking minutes to department meetings along with the ability to transcribe minutes on an as needed basis. Provides other secretarial duties as required. Maintains level of office supplies and retrieves supplies as needed to ensure adequate flow of operations throughout department. Routes any service calls to appropriate area. Possesses knowledge of all PC equipment and maintains the equipment for proper functioning. Can proficiently operate all office equipment to include accurately loading forms, paper, ribbons, and ink cartridges in printers. Stocks work area with clerical supplies as needed.

The Clerical Associate in Radiology works under the direction of the Office Supervisor in conjunction with the Radiology Manager. Answers incoming calls, takes accurate messages, and exhibits excellent customer service communication skills. Responsible for operating all necessary information systems to include scheduling patient procedures in computerized scheduling system and/or manually required. Obtains information to determine medical necessity is present for all testing prior to scheduling of exam(s). The Clerical Associate consults Radiologists, Technologists, or Management as needed to schedule. Is able to make efficient decisions with information given, following proper protocol when scheduling exam. Works well in a high volume area while performing multi-tasks. Is proficient and possesses knowledge of all computer applications relating to Radiology functions. Must be able to perform all secretarial/typing tasks as required. Is flexible with schedule to meet the operations needed for Radiology. Performs other duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE** :
+ High school diploma/GED (Required)
+ Medical/anatomy terminology, clerical, filing ability and experience in hospital or related setting (Preferred)
