At Hidden Valley Orchards, we strive to create a family friendly agritourism experience. In 2025, the farm team will be planting and caring for over 2,000 apple trees, a market garden, u-pick pumpkins, a crop maze, livestock, grapes, and more.
We will assist with projects around the farm as needed and generally be available to the larger agritourism operation as needed (i.e., hay wagon rides, lawn and garden care, etc.). We are seeking farm hands for the main farming season from August to November with the potential to extend the role in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily livestock chores for small groups of animals
- Help with planting, pruning, irrigating, fertilizing, and cultivating of apple trees and grape vines
- Assist with a 1/2 acre market garden; weeding, harvesting, cultivating, tilling, fertilizing, etc.
- Assist with some observation bee hives
- Work with the larger agritourism operation on select days when extra hands are needed (i.e., hayrides, facilities care, unloading produce, maintaining food displays, etc.)
- Help with cultivating, planting, and harvesting of u-pick pumpkins and flowers and a crop maze
- Assist with fence and irrigation system building and maintenance
- Work with the team on other crops or agricultural ventures should they arise during the season.

A Technician I is in training to perform and become proficient in on-boarding skills, procedures, and cooperating in a team environment. The technician is learning basic skills required to support a study which may include animal husbandry needs, animal handling, cages, equipment storage/tracking, wash systems, and water delivery system maintenance for various species throughout the site. The technician is working under close supervision to gain proficiency.
Training Schedule for the first month: M-F, 8am-3:30pm. After this will transition to -
Monday – Friday with weekend and holiday rotations 07:00AM – 3:30PM
Saturday - Wednesday with holiday rotations 07:00A – 3:30PM
Wednesday - Sunday with holiday rotations 07:00AM – 3:30PM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Ensure good welfare and humane care for all animals worked with through gentle, positive human-animal interactions.
•Train in on-boarding skills which may include animal husbandry needs, animal handling, cages, equipment storage/tracking, wash systems, and water delivery system maintenance for various species throughout the site. Specific skills will be based on each area’s training plan and business needs.
•Collect, document, review, and verify data on forms, or in electronic data capture systems.
•Review documentation of functions performed as part of quality control requirements.
•Use and maintain instrumentation and equipment.
•Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma, General Education Degree (G.E.D.), preferred.
Experience : No previous experience required.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Certification/Licensure: None.

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities to achieve goals.

Core Responsibilities- Supports Mission, Vision and Values of Destination Pet.
- Sanitizes/disinfects pet enclosures and general boarding areas.
- Provides clean bedding and fresh water to each pet guest.
- Makes sure that each pet receives the correct type and quantity of food for each meal.
- Ensures pets have clean water at all times.
- Monitors and accurately charts consumption and elimination of each and every pet guest; brings problems to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Visually checks pet guests for safety and well-being throughout the day.
- Checks and picks up excrement from enclosures and other areas as needed throughout the day.
- Monitors pet belongings; cleans belongings as needed; assures the return of pet belongings to owners. Carries pet belongings to storage area, front desk or to assist customers, as needed.
- Maintains and cleans food preparation areas.
- Performs daily laundering of pet bedding and towels.
- Must be a pet fanatic pets are part of our family!
- Professional animal care/kennel experience preferred.
- Displays a professional manner at all times.
