We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining and ensuring the accuracy of our financial records, supporting closing activities, and contributing to financial analysis and reporting. - Support monthly and annual closing activities by preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.

- Perform financial analysis and reporting to identify trends and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
- Contribute to the preparation of profit and loss statements and other key financial reports.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data within accounting systems, and help establish procedures to maintain data quality.
- Provide support during audits by preparing required documentation and working with external auditors.
- Generate and distribute timely regular and ad hoc financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to fulfill financial data requests and support special projects.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support daily business operations.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 3-5+ years of general ledger accounting experience, including job costing, month-end close, and GAAP accounting.
- Proficiency in Excel, with the ability to create and manipulate formulas such as VLOOKUPS and pivot tables.
- Strong analytical skills for data analysis in addition to accounting knowledge.
- Experience with Sage Intacct and construction accounting.
- Experience with Sage ERP systems, particularly with recently implemented Sage Intacct.
- Experience in ERP implementation.
- Ability to transition into a permanent role within a growing company.
The position requires working 8-hour days with flexibility between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM, fully onsite. There are few instances for life-related exceptions. The work location will be relocating to the DroneUp building in Newtown in a year.

RMGS is currently recruiting a Senior Accountant in our corporate offices in Virginia Beach, VA.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for daily accounting functions, assisting with the monthly close process, preparing account reconciliations, and contributing to both internal and external financial reporting. This role helps ensure accuracy, compliance with GAAP, and alignment with internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily accounting activities in accordance with company policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and support month-end close processes.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, schedules, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, contracts, and internal policies.
- Provide documentation and support for audits and regulatory filings.
- Address internal inquiries regarding accounting data and procedures.
- Support tax, licensing, and compliance reporting requirements.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldor equivalent combination of education and experience
- 35 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or government contracting environment.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
- Experience with accounting software; familiarity with Acumatica, Deltek Costpoint, or other ERP systems is a plus.
- Understanding of government contract accounting is desirable
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
- Analytical thinker with sound judgment.

The Staff Accountant will be an integral part of our Accounting team, responsible for handling complex Government accounting practices as an individual contributor. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of Government accounting principles and the ability to navigate the entire project lifecycle from an accounting perspective. Additionally, the Staff Accountant will be assigned special projects as they become familiar with the position.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
+ Manage accounts receivable, cash receipts, accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing, and revenue tracking.
+ Provide essential support to Project Managers throughout project setup, modi?cation, execution, monitoring, and closeout phases, identifying and addressing potential issues promptly.
+ Participate in joint venture accounting activities, including comprehensive ?nancial statement preparation and the setup of new and existing joint ventures in Costpoint.
+ Ensure accurate quarterly and annual joint venture reporting to Corporate.
+ Assist with monthly reconciliations, including IFRS16 reconciliations.
+ Support tax reporting efforts by obtaining necessary documentation for submission to the tax department or CPA ?rm.
+ Facilitate subscription revenue setup and processing.
+ Contribute to additional special projects as assigned.

Job Description
The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role is responsible for overseeing daily financial operations across the organization, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of financial data in alignment with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and upholding the company's ethical and strategic standards. The position requires a solid foundation in accounting and business practices, along with sound judgment to support key initiatives. Tasks are expected to be completed accurately, promptly, and with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with GAAP for reliable financial reporting.
+ Ensure adherence to Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
+ Assist with monthly and annual financial close processes.
+ Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
+ Manage government-related financial documentation, including provisional rate submissions, incurred cost reports, and responses to audits and inquiries.
+ Develop and monitor internal budgets for both direct and indirect costs.
+ Manage cash flow projections and create contingency strategies for potential financial shortfalls.
+ Draft pricing documentation and conduct financial analysis for government contract proposals.
+ Evaluate and suggest improvements to accounting policies and procedures.
+ Handle correspondence, documentation, and special assignments as needed.
+ Gather and analyze financial data for required reporting and compliance.
+ Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
+ Stay current with relevant financial regulations, particularly those related to cost accounting.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
+ 5+ years of GL accounting experience with a government contractor.
+ Proficiency in Excel, including creating and utilizing pivot tables for reconciliations and analysis.
+ Understanding of DCAA, balance sheet reconciliations, indirect/provisional rates, and cost pools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Deltek Costpoint experience is highly preferred (ideally 2+ years).
+ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
+ Ability to work closely with the CFO at a local government contractor.
Work Environment
The position operates in a professional office environment with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The role requires full-time commitment and involves working closely with financial documents and software.
