Belden's HR Internship offers current students an opportunity to work on important business projects, collaborate with experienced managers and deliver real results for the organization. Over 12 weeks during the summer (May - August), you will gain hands-on experience creating real business solutions while developing project management skills, interpersonal skills, and field-specific knowledge.

As a member of our 2026 Internship Program , you'll be fully immersed with a global team of HR experts eager to teach and learn from you along the way. These fast-paced, project-based internship positions are ideal for students who are interested in developing themselves personally, while also making a substantial contribution to the company. You'll work towards goals, deliver results, and present to business leaders.

We offer opportunities to work in our offices in Indianapolis, IN.

How you can add value within the HR function:

  • Review HR benefits library and employee engagement plans and suggest changes and updates

  • Assist in creation and roll-out of new programs and policies

  • Develop standardized processes and training materials associated with new processes

  • Contribute to the review, grading, and benchmarking of new job descriptions

  • Support the roll-out and implementation of new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives

Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $26-$37 per hour. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden also offers hybrid and remote work practices where feasible. POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) plays a key role in supporting the organization's people strategy by delivering HR services across a range of functional areas, including employee relations, training and development, talent acquisition, benefits administration, and onboarding.   • Coordinate employee recognition programs to support a culture of appreciation and engagement.
  • Process unemployment claims and respond to notices in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure compliance with employment eligibility verification (Form I-9) and conduct periodic audits.
  • Support and help coordinate employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, short-term disability, and other leave types, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
  • Demonstrate a consistently positive and professional demeanor, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment
  • Encourage constructive dialogue for the team, even during periods of change or challenge
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity. Uphold confidentiality standards in all communications and decisions, ensuring trust and compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements

Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a generalist or HR business partner role.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and employment law.
  • Experience supporting or advising managers and employees across various departments or business units.
  • Strong documentation skills with a demonstrated ability to maintain accurate, timely, and compliant records related to HR processes, employee interactions, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
