Summary/Objective
The Fitter Welder is responsible for fitting parts for OGI units.
Essential Functions

- Clamps, holds, tack-welds, grinds, and bolts components to position for welding.
- Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
- Develop templates and models for welding projects, using mathematical calculations based on blueprint information.
- Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
- Maintain and complete all required records and production documentation.
- Layout, fits nozzles supports and couplings per blueprint into shell.
- Remove rough spots from workpieces, using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
- Maintains a safe work environment and reports defective tools and equipment.
- Ability to operate a forklift and crane.
- Complies with all safety rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
Non-temperature controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles that are usually associated with metal fabrication shops. All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, safety harness, full face grinding shield, welding hood and OSHA compliant safety boots/shoes within the manufacturing facility.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee in this position is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. This position requires walking, the ability to reach, ascend/descend ladders, bend, kneel, and stoop. The employee occasionally will lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to
4:30 p.m. Additional work hours and weekends may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
No travel is required for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- Ability to pass 3G Stainless weld test. MIG all the way out. 3/8 thick.
- 2 plus years of relevant experience welding stainless steel.
- Read and interpret blueprints and have strong mathematic skills.
- Ability to use and read level, tapes, protractors, and various tools.
- Possession of strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 2-year technical degree or vocational certificate in welding preferred.

1st Shift - Mostly shop work; some local travel may be required
- Mon - Fri (6am to 4pm) {Starting time can change depending on the job}

- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Summary:
- Responsible to weld, fabricate and assemble metal structures, equipment, misc. projects through the use of welding machines, cutting machines, rollers and press brakes, along with measuring and layout tools to produce metal parts and assemblies according to customer or employer specifications either in the field or in the shop in an efficient manner while maintaining safety and quality expectations.
Requirements:
1. Functional use of press brake, shear, Iron Worker, rolling machines & saws
2. Blueprint reading capability
3. Experience taking something from concept to drawing to completion
4. Overall mechanically inclined
5. Ability to measure and differentiate types of materials
Welding & Cutting Functions
1. Mastery of 304, 310 & 316 Stainless Steel TIG welding
2. Working knowledge of MIG welding
3. Create welds that meet AWS standards
4. Clean surrounding areas of any weld splatter
5. Ensure no porosity or defects in welds
6. Working knowledge of handheld torch and plasma cutting
