Job Description:
Seeking an experienced RN to join the Step Down Unit at Rochester General Hospital's Sands Surgical Division. This role involves caring for patients requiring intermediate-level care following medical-surgical and vascular surgeries.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing care for patients post-trauma, neuro, ENT, general, urology, plastic, and bariatric surgeries
- Monitoring arterial lines and managing post-operative recovery in a stepdown setting
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams for patient treatment and recovery
- Floating to other units as needed
- Participating in every other holiday rotation
Requirements:
- Active RN license (must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility)
- AHA BLS Certification (required)
- AHA NIHSS Certification (required)
- Minimum 1-2 years of stepdown or surgical unit experience preferred
Additional Info:
- 8 hours of non-billable orientation
- Up to 3 shifts may be called off during the contract
- Must be comfortable floating and caring for diverse surgical patients
