General Summary:

To serve as the primary financial model builder and key member of Dollar General's Real Estate Financial Planning and Analysis team. The models will support the sales, real estate, SG&A, and capital planning functions for Dollar General. Assists in research aimed at improving the company's ability to forecast sales, profitability, and project financial returns. Provide cost-benefit, variance, and ad-hoc analysis as directed by Sr. Management.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models in support of the Commercial Finance function for Dollar General:
  • Creation of complex financial models including returns metrics (e.g. IRR, NPV, DCF, etc.) and preparation of presentation materials for Sr. leadership.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather valid assumptions and KPIs to support creation of the financial models.
  • Enhance existing models by tearing down legacy models/processes to recreate more robust and efficient models.
  • Analyze trends and external factors to create reasonable projections for future performance.
  • Regularly review and update models to correspond with changing market conditions.
  • Assist in assigned areas of the real estate budget and forecast finance cycle, including:
  • Month end close support – variance analysis, communicating findings, and publishing reports.
  • Reforecast – collaborate with stakeholders and recommend forecast adjustments.
  • Annual budget process – in-depth review of all assigned accounts and assist in the creation of the annual plan.

Qualifications:

Job Description
Purpose:
PRM Finance Manager to support Plastics and Regenerative Medicine business. This position takes the lead, with guidance from the PRM Finance Director, in managing the full P&L for Regen Med. The Finance Manager acts as a business partner and strategic thought leader in collaboration with the Marketing and Commercial teams. Primary responsibilities include modeling Sales to Distribution Margin, coordinating all planning cycles (Plan, LBE, LRP), and acting as financial planning lead for Regen Med (including GTN, royalties, and warranty). Other key responsibilities include promotion modeling, pricing analysis, daily/weekly/monthly reports (sales analytics), weekly sales tracking, and acting as liaison with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Customer Operations (customer service), and SP&A (sales planning & analytics). This is in addition to core finance/accounting functions such as (but not limited to) preparing journal entries, assessing balance sheet risk, month-end reporting, financial controls and ad hoc analysis to support the Commercial business.
Responsibilities:
+ + Lead the planning process for LBE, LRP and Plan and build out forecasting and revenue reporting models for Regen Med
+ Prepare month-end and LBE commentary for Commercial and Global FP&A teams
+ Responsible for demand forecast and act as the financial representative on S&Op
+ Comment on variance drivers vs. forecast targets on > 100 key SKU's
+ Support Brand's strategic decisions and ensure forecasts are aligned to Commercial strategy
+ Complete ad hoc promotion modeling and pricing analysis
+ Royalty calculation and coordinate payout
+ Prepare Rebate calculation and Journal entries and partner with commercial team to ensure adequacy of reserves
+ Coordinate all deliverables and create analysis/presentations for planning cycle presentations (Plan, LBE, LRP)
+ Lead Regen Med SG&A planning and COGS/OMC/OCOS forecasts
+ Prepare weekly sales tracking for Sales & Marketing
+ Provide in-depth analysis of business results, identifying emerging risks and opportunities and regularly communicate findings to senior management
+ Drive best practices, reducing manual work and leveraging system tools (i.e. PowerBI, Wdesk) to increase understanding and engagement of data reporting with stakeholders
+ Month-end close activities such as accruals, reserve analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
+ Perform variety of tasks, financial controls and ad-hoc analysis, as required
Qualifications
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting (CPA or MBA a plus)
+ 5-7 years of work experience in forecasting, simulation and other quantitative forecasting methodologies.
+ Strong interpersonal skills, including being a team player while also having the ability to partner with and influence others
+ Self-starter with ability to operate independently, drive processes, identify and implement process improvements, and establish & adjust priorities to achieve objectives
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines

As a key member of the finance team, the primary duty of this position is to lead the FP&A function. Responsibilities include ownership of the annual budgeting/planning process, periodic forecasting and financial reporting, acquisition integration activities and other ad hoc financial and systems analysis.

This role will be responsible for building key relationships with internal and external customers, as well as ensuring compliance and drive efficiency. In addition, the role will participate in projects to support new company initiatives, process improvement and automation.

This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and currently has three direct reports. As we continue to build-out the Corporate and Regional teams we anticipate there will be additions to the FP&A team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific areas of activity and ownership include:

  • Act as a key partner to the CFO, CEO, COO, and executive leadership team to provide insights that support decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and drive growth and profitability.
  • Lead monthly reporting activities including preparing financial statement reports, variance and profitability analysis and management reporting packages.
  • Analyze non-financial statement metrics such as orders, backlog and employee utilization.
  • Deliver meaningful financial reports including written analysis articulating key drivers and trends to support decision making.
  • Lead the financial planning activities including annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Perform reviews and track project performance. Interpret and communicate results to stakeholders.
  • Develop and prepare robust cash flow forecasts for support of our capital allocation decisions (investing or management of debt).
  • Lead process improvement projects and system implementations/ enhancements.
  • Develop financial models, participate on cross-functional project teams, and perform analysis to support strategic initiatives.
  • Support company acquisition and integration activities including operational and financial activities. Build and analyze pro-forma financials and returns.
  • Assist with corporate wide finance initiatives such as consistent reporting and analysis, acquisition or integration support, or various system implementations
  • Lead the administration, maintenance and continuous improvement efforts of our financial reporting and operational reporting tools and software (e.g. Planful)
  • Other Ad-hoc tasks and duties as assigned.

Experience & Competencies:

  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Early public accounting experience, publicly traded company or private equity experience preferred.
  • Experience in a large, multi-project-based company preferred.
  • Construction, Engineering or other project-based industry experience.
  • Experience and demonstrated understanding of percentage of completion accounting preferred.
  • Experience working in an environment requiring both robust periodic "bottoms-up", as well as ad hoc "top-down" interim forecasting processes and procedures.
  • Planful FP&A platform experience and proficiency preferred.
  • Proficiency in other sophisticated G/L and business intelligence and reporting tools acceptable (Hyperion, Oracle, SAP, BI, etc.).
  • MS Office suite proficiency required.

  • Utilize the Firm's financial planning tools and work with FAs/PWAs/teams to enhance client relationships and generate financial plans
  • Help build and establish a repeatable and scalable planning process for FAs/PWAs/team as a part of their book of business
  • At the request of FA/PWA/team, participating in existing client and/or prospective client meetings to review financial plans, representing the service lens
  • Providing guidance and support to peers within the market, assisting with financial planning support in an administrative capacity (e.g., tool usage) as needed
  • Remaining current on all policies, procedures and new platforms
    • Participating in firm initiatives (e.g., training or education programs), special projects and/or other duties directed by local management – particularly those relating to financial planning

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS:

Education and/or Experience

  • 5+ years of work experience in a field relevant to the position required
  • 4-year college degree or professional certification preferred
  • Active Series 7 (GS), and Series 66 (AG/RA) or Series 63 (AG) and Series 65 (RA) required
  • Complete and maintain internal Financial Planning Specialist designation requirements
  • Willingness to obtain Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and/or Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA) designation
