As a Data Storage Administrator.
- Your primary responsibility will be working with our Storage Team to ensure the support, security, and maintenance of multiple enterprise classified data storage systems hosting over 10 petabytes for sponsor data.
- You will maintain ongoing data analysis and provide reports of storage usage, data integrity, and accessibility quality.
- You'll collaborate with other team members, program/project managers, and knowledgeable customers to plan new storage procurement and deployment. These storage technologies can include considerations for virtualization, High Performance Computing (HPC), data archive and recovery, networking and other requirements, depending on the programs' needs.
- You will be working with other group members and teams that specialize in multiple disciplines such as Information System Security Officers (ISSO) to implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), Windows/Linux System Administrators for access and authentication, Network Engineers for data transport, and Facility and Datacenter Administrators for space and logistics.
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you have.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of Dell/EMC storage solutions, NetApp, HPE, or managed enterprise storage solutions.
- Experience working with and securing systems to DoD/RMF standards.
- Current DoD 8570 certification or can obtain one within six months of employment.
- Hold an active Secret security clearance and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you have.
- Windows and Linux experience as it pertains to storage integration.
- An active Top Secret clearance
- In depth knowledge of file and folder permissions for Windows and Linux
- Strong knowledge of high capacity storage, backup, object, and archive technologies.
- Networking experience especially as it relates to storage.
- Experience generating detailed reports of data usage and health.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. Position responsibilities include:
- Responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting database backups
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues related to NetApp and Commvault systems
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides, best practices, and standard operating procedures

Position Summary
The Storage Administrator will manage, maintain, deploy, and troubleshoot a mixed environment of enterprise data storage systems, including network-attached and fiber channel storage, in support of the Army's enterprise-level IT services. This role ensures universally available, secure, and scalable storage solutions. The Storage Administrator will support the company's mission by contributing to the stability, performance, and efficiency of client infrastructure and is expected to participate in on-call rotations and onsite support as needed. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance on the contract, and therefore RavenTek's mission to support the customer.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and maintain enterprise storage system configurations and architecture.
- Proactively monitor the performance of storage systems and identify improvement opportunities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to FC networks and NAS storage systems.
- Execute environmental data refreshes as requested by service owners.
- Develop documentation, SOPs, and support rationales for configuration decisions.
- Create and keep team-approved storage policies and standards.
- Follow ITIL practices for Change Management.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation.
- Be available onsite for physical tasks and meetings with teams and leadership.
- Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
- Submit MSR's (Monthly Status Reports) as required by manager.

- Strong understanding of enterprise storage administration in complex IT environments is essential.
- Familiarity with NAS and block storage, FC networks, and related protocols (FC, CIFS, NFS, iSCSI).
- Experience with Windows Server 2019/2022 and Linux OS.
- Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash).
- Strong command line (CLI) skills.
- Team-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Storage Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's storage systems, ensuring data availability, security, and performance. The Storage Administrator will work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless data storage solutions and provide support for enterprise storage platforms.
- Support the provisioning of storage services across all virtual and physical environments including administration, management support, backup, DR, and COOP.
- Monitor, allocate, and recommend system storage usage in accordance with appropriate directives.
- Document all instances of storage within the enterprise and storage services capabilities to include size, speed, accessibility, and scalability.
- Apply, maintain, and troubleshoot storage-related issues.

- Knowledge of storage security practices, including encryption and access controls.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex storage-related issues.

JANUS Research Group is seeking a Senior Storage Administrator to support the IT Services and Support (ITSS) requirements for the U.S. Army Product Lead Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Enterprise Systems and Services (PL ALTESS) requirement, in support of the Program Executive Office Enterprise (PEO Enterprise) in Radford, VA.
The Senior Storage Administrator will support a mixed and growing environment of various storage HW. This position will work with the existing OS and Storage teams to manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot, and support servers and storage systems for ALTESS and its customers. This position will assist with implementing new system HW and SW and provide input for developing local operating procedures and policies as needed. The Senior Storage Administrator position will need to be adept at monitoring the ongoing operation of the systems and providing utilization reports using existing tools to identify problems and corrective actions as needed and be able to recommend, demonstrate, and implement technologies to help expand, upgrade, and increase efficiencies to the current environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- CompTIA Security+.
