Job Duties:
- Design, implement, and manage storage solutions including NetApp, SpectraLogic, Versity ScoutAM, VMware, RedHat OpenShift, HPE DMF, and related technologies.
- Configure and maintain SAN infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Manage and maintain LTO tape libraries for deep storage, data backup and archival purposes.
- Analyze, Deploy and maintain requirements driven storage solutions, involving Block, File, Object and Linear Tape IO.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve storage-related issues promptly and efficiently to maintain high availability and integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of storage solutions with other IT infrastructure components.
- Administer Red Hat Linux servers and OpenShift environments to support the stability and security of our storage systems.
- Maintain detailed documentation for storage configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies and advise leadership of available options when evolution and refresh is necessary.
- Work with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to ensure compliance with information assurance regulations and best practices.
- Ensure Cybersecurity requirements are consistently documented, maintained, evaluated and compliant for Air Force IT system networks including components of systems.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Bachelors degree in IT-related field and a minimum of 5 years of progressively relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.
- Current U. S. Citizenship required.
- Active DoD security clearance.
- CompTIA Security+ Certification.
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., NetApp Certified Data Administrator, VMware Certified Professional, RedHat Certified Engineer, Microsoft Certified Solutions Engineer).
- Experience with Hierarchical Storage Management solutions such as HPE Data Management Framework (DMF) and/or Versity ScoutAM.

The Server & Storage Engineering team drives the compute and storage needs for all internal Bloomberg Businesses. The team manages the Storage Infrastructure as well as the Physical & Virtual server needs for Internal Businesses including our Datacenters, Corporate Locations & Remote Offices Worldwide. We engineer our Infrastructure Systems from an Availability, Capacity & Security perspective which includes KPIs, SLAs, and OLAs throughout our environments.
The team is accountable for designing and deploying multi-site infrastructure utilizing Windows (Server Operating Systems) & virtualization technologies such as vSphere & ESXi. The team engineers & manages SAN & NAS infrastructure across various platforms including EMC (Isilon), NetApp (FAS, AFF), Pure and Brocade switches. In addition, the team manages various X86 platforms and converged infrastructure such as HP / Dell Servers. Position Description:
Our Northwest Business Unit is seeking a storage engineer must be able to work in cross-functional environments and interact with representatives from CGI and our end-clients. Will work at various CGI/and client sites consulting and executing various engineering initiatives from administration, configuration, deployments, migrations, supporting storage environments, and more.
This position can be located in our Knoxville, TN (preference) or any of our other onshore delivery centers to include Lafayette, LA; Troy, AL; Mobile, AL; Belton, TX; Lebanon, VA; Wausau, WI. However, a hybrid working model is acceptable. Ability to travel 75%-90% will be required (Knoxville, TN).
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Ability to understand and convey customer needs and your recommendations to other storage professionals
• Translating requirements into technical and systems specifications, configurations
• Providing technical analysis to ensure solutions are operationally sound
• Expert technical capabilities with a wide array of NetApp Suite of Products, Third Party Applications & Tools, SAN, NAS, EMC, Cisco, Nexus, Linux, Windows, VMWare, and other systems
• Performing complex technical work which will include administration, configuration, deployments, proof of concepts, documentation, and working with infrastructure (storage, network and servers) in some technical capacity.
• Provide various levels of 1st, 2nd and 3rd tier support
• Present technical solutions and ideas to Engineering and Operations teams
• Ability to run and document testing completed on NetApp hardware & Software suites
• Participate in the evaluation of new technologies and releases for Storage
• Fully document technical solutions to include, logical and physical system diagrams, data flow diagrams, test plans, and as-built diagrams.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Possesses 1-2 years of experience with the following:
• NetApp Technologies, including C-DOT, ONTAP, 7Mode, OnCommand, HWU, SmartSolve, ActiveIQ, as well as proficiency with Storage Products and Cisco.
• Recent experience with racking, stacking, cabling and hardware deployment of various NetApp Storage Cluster models and switches.
• Thorough knowledge of Unix and Windows operating systems
• Understanding of NIS, DFS, CIFS, NFS and AD concepts
• Experience in storage capacity planning
• Experience in storage monitoring
• Experience working on projects for data migration, storage monitoring, and/or new application deployment initiatives
• Experience in working knowledge of storage, cloud, infrastructure, and enterprise operation systems environments
• Strong Problem Solving & Analytical Skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as collaboration skills
• Ability to travel 75%-90% will be required
