The Customer Asset Management (CAM) Operations Development Program enables participants to gain in-depth professional and analytical experience and development of leadership and collaborative skills through a defined and customized immersive rotational program. Program participants will become technically proficient in core business processes within the CAM division.
**Department Description:**
The Foreclosure, Bankruptcy and Property Preservation team is comprised of dedicated bankers, most of whom, are located in Buffalo, NY. We support CAM in its mission to help borrowers overcome their hardship while minimizing losses to the Bank. Our primary focus is on the residential mortgage portfolio with a secondary focus on a small segment of the consumer lending portfolio. We follow complex operational processes and a vast array of legal and investor rules and regulations but at our core we are risk managers. We all share an obligation to identify, assess, monitor and control risks on a daily basis.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Complete a series of job rotations, over a set time frame in multiple disciplines, to gain a broader understanding of the roles, how they are utilized at the Bank, and how they work together to deliver solutions and services to internal and external customers
+ Manage pipeline of loans ensuring operational processes are completed timely and accurately
+ Perform reviews of loans confirming a quality level within the Company's risk appetite
+ Work in customer contact or back-office roles depending upon the preference and skill set of the candidate

** Work Arrangement/Location: This is a hybrid position requiring in-office work three days every week (Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday) and it is based at the One M&T Plaza office in Buffalo, NY.
**Overview:**
Support the first line of defense risk management function by assisting with the identification and assessment of risks, risk monitoring and testing, and issues management. Provide assistance in the development of various operational risk/compliance related initiatives within the line of business and manage the implementation of less complex initiatives.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Responsible for completely and accurately documenting key business unit processes. Identify and assess risks and internal controls associated with these key processes.
+ Actively participate in the planning, execution and reporting of the business unit's risk-based testing program. Perform control testing in accordance with M&T's First Line of Defense Guidance on Management of Risks & Internal Controls and professional standards.
+ Specific control testing responsibilities will involve planning and execution of control and substantive testing, assistance in the review of testing, and evaluating results to determine if issues exist. Independently perform scripted testing of controls and communicate results.
+ Monitor business unit performance with respect to established key risk indicators (KRIs) and assist in the creation of comprehensive KRI reporting.

+ Provide guidance on the development of remediation plans. Manage the timely completion of remediation plans and other projects to address issues identified internally and by Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit or external regulators.
+ Research and assess regulatory requirements impacting the business unit.
+ Build a working relationship with Internal Audit, Corporate Operational Risk and Corporate Compliance Portfolio Managers.
+ Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
