Three Train Studios is a Christian animation studio producing two original shows and a feature film.
This is more than animation — it's a youth movement. God is calling us to be a voice for the next generation, guiding them through faith-filled storytelling. As a Storyboard Intern, you'll help bring these stories to life and inspire youth through powerful visuals.
What You'll Gain:

About Three Train Studios:
Three Train Studios is a Christian-based animation studio dedicated to creating meaningful content that reflects biblical values. Our mission is to bring light to those who sit in darkness. We are seeking passionate, creative interns to join our team this fall.
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–15 hours per week (you choose your schedule)
Start Date: Begining of October
End Date: (3-4 months from start date)

We understand that our team members have school, work, and personal commitments. That's why we offer flexible scheduling and will always work around your availability. Whether you can commit to a few hours a week or more, we are happy to accommodate the schedule that works best for you.
Compensation
This is a role for either academic credit or volunteer experience only. All members of our team currently serve in these capacities as we work to bring this series to life and grow toward future funding.

As we collaborate with DC Studios/ Warner Bros Pictures Animation and Matt Reeves' 6th and Idaho on a revolutionary new project, you'll play a vital role in coordinating the artistry and logistics that bring bold visions to life. This is your chance to help lead a production that's equal parts innovative and unforgettable.
Job SummaryAs a Junior Storyboard Artist, your focus will be on cleaning up and refining story materials. You'll take rough storyboards, video boards, and filmed reference prepared by senior artists and transform them into clear, polished sequences. This includes drawing over filmed actions, improving clarity, and ensuring consistency with the film's style and vision. The role is a great fit for a skilled 2D animator or draftsperson with a sharp artistic eye, strong line work, and an interest in how story comes to life in feature animation.
Key Responsibilities- Clean up and refine rough storyboards and draw overs provided by senior artists and directors.
- Add clarity, polish, and consistency to existing story sequences.
- Perform draw overs on filmed actions to help translate performance and movement into storyboard form.
- Ensure work aligns with established visual style, camera language, and production pipeline standards.
- Organize and prepare cleaned-up storyboards for presentations, editorial, and production use.
- Take feedback from senior story artists and directors and adjust work quickly and accurately.
- Strong drawing skills, with a good sense of gesture, action, perspective, and appeal.
- Solid foundation in 2D animation principles (line quality, staging, acting, posing, movement).
- Ability to repeatedly draw characters on-model with recognizability.
- Proficiency with digital drawing tools (e.g., Photoshop, Storyboard Pro, or equivalent).
- Ability to refine and polish others' work while respecting the intent of the original artist.
- Strong eye for detail, consistency, and visual storytelling.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to take direction and integrate feedback smoothly & quickly.
- Previous internship, project, or freelance experience in storyboarding or animation.
- Understanding of 3D/CG production pipelines.
- Knowledge of cinematic staging, editing, and visual continuity.
- Interest in feature film animation and eagerness to learn the storyboarding pipeline.
