Role summary

The Director, Strategic Sourcing will play a pivotal role in driving sourcing standard practices across athenahealth by leading enterprise-wide sourcing initiatives. Essential Job Responsibilities

Expected Education & Experience

• Understanding of Ocean Freight, Air Freight, and Small Parcel industries and the key cost drivers within these industries
• Develop policies and procedures with key partners and identified suppliers to manage demand for spend and ensure the best quality, service and cost to achieve our goals.
• Use existing technologies to support the sourcing process and identify additional technology needs to enhance specific categories where applicable
• Develop implementation and transition plans and work with departments to ensure strategies are embedded in our processes
• Collaborate with internal partners to continually improve supplier performance and product offerings through contracts and supplier performance management methodologies and reviews.
• Improve and rationalize supply base on an ongoing basis.
• Continue to assess contract and service renewals to improve usage and spend.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience with Indirect Sourcing in the logistics category
• Exposure to a strategic sourcing environment where best practices were exercised
• Experience in the telecom and information technology supply base with knowledge in multiple spend commodities
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• You have previously negotiated and reviewed contracts with suppliers ensuring the financial details are beneficial to the company
• Experience presenting to and negotiating with C-Suite executives
• Project Management experience
• Experience with upstream and downstream e-procurement tools
• Consulting background a plus
• Fluency in Korean is a plus
