Overview

Job Summary

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist supports the Procurement team by analyzing supplier performance, cost structures, and market trends to optimize sourcing strategies. This role is responsible for gathering and interpreting data to drive supplier negotiations, enhance supplier relationships, and support cost-saving initiatives. The specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement decisions align with business objectives, compliance requirements, and industry regulations. Performs responsibilities in accordance with applicable FDA, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and state regulations, as well as relevant standards, including but not limited to ISO 13485.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

* Analyze procurement data, supplier performance, and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.* Support supplier evaluation and selection processes by providing data-driven insights.* Support supplier contract negotiations and management to drive successful agreements that align with business objectives and optimize cost, quality, and service.* Assist in the development and implementation of category management strategies.* Support and optimize supplier scorecards to track performance metrics.* Conduct cost modeling and should-cost analysis to support negotiations.* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with operational needs.* Monitor industry trends and supply chain risks to mitigate potential disruptions.* Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).* Knowledge of data visualization tools and statistical analysis techniques.* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.* Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.* Demonstrated experience of successful use of customer relationship skills.* Proven track record of successful supplier contract negotiation and management required.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience

Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

Experience: 4-6 years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain analytics, preferably in the medical device or life sciences industry.Industry Knowledge: Understanding of supplier performance management, cost analysis, and procurement best practices.Management has the discretion of substituting relevant work experience for a degree and/or making exceptions to the years of experience requirement.

Travel requirements Limited domestic and international travel (<10%) to supplier sites and industry conferences.

Salary range for this position is $80,000-$25,000 per year.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Senior Sourcing Specialist drives the strategic supplier development and cost management of Anduril RMS supply chain, by collaborating with suppliers and cross-functionally, including folks in engineering, quality, and manufacturing.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Conduct supplier selection for a specific product, leveraging our approved supplier list
  • Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development via activities such as:
  • Concept scoping to quickly solidify requirements
  • Feature trade-off / trade tables
  • Should cost / Clean sheet models
  • Joint design development, via clear statements of work
  • Drive the development and consolidation of a manufacturing BOM, working with Quality & Manufacturing, to ramp production internally and with our suppliers with high flexibility
  • Manage the CAPEX throughout NPI
  • Conduct value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility
  • Complete the BOM risk assessment, include alternate component sourcing, etc.
  • Ensure completion of all component qualifications, ahead of production
  • Reduce complexity: commonality optimization & component/supplier rationalization
  • Work to identify and minimize obsolescence risk
  • Lead all cost engineering activities to converge the bottoms-up cost curve to product cost, maximizing the total cost of ownership (TCO) across the product lifecycle
  • Manage ad-hoc cost issues e.g., tariffs / import export cost, and cost inflation
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (BSME, BSEE), business, or supply chain required
  • Minimum of 6-10 years working in a strategic sourcing role with a defense manufacturing company
  • Advanced sourcing activities, including stints as commodity/sourcing specialist or supplier development roles related to sourcing engineering components for electrical, composites, and metallic parts/assemblies

US Salary Range

Job Purpose

Duties: The Strategic Sourcing Specialist at CNH Industrial America LLC in Oak Brook, IL will support the purchase of high complexity production parts for 10 North American manufacturing plants for the North American Metallic commodity group, specifically Aluminum & Steel Castings, Counterweight, Sintered Material for the fabrication and welding of our Next Gen Combine, Next Gen Sprayer, and Tractor products. The duties include setting strategic direction for the assigned Metallic commodity, participating in negotiations, helping achieve the budget through managed cost reduction initiatives, sourcing and closing campaigns, and meeting supplier rationalization targets, forecasting and reporting economic savings performance, negotiating price reductions or increases, driving long term agreements, conducting market test, awarding new business to maximize leverage, and analyzing various reports to identify cost reduction opportunities, and supporting special projects as necessary to assist in delivering commodity goals, working closely with the global commodity team (EMEA, LATAM, APAC). Supporting functions for new product launch initiatives while developing and implementing cost reduction and sourcing strategies through leveraging parts for new platforms to meet program timing, cost, quality, delivery, and strategic objectives. Developing and implementing supply base management strategies both regionally and globally that lead to lowest total cost in terms of quality, lead time, delivery, service and unit cost. Driving the selection of suppliers and negotiating and maintaining supplier performance to expectations. Negotiating, implementing and managing LTA's (long term agreements) while achieving commercial savings and raw material recovery in order to meet or exceed material cost and total cost reduction objectives and support organization. Facilitating supplier/engineering VA/VE (Value Analysis and Value Engineering) activities in order to drive product cost savings and process improvement initiatives to achieve budget performance. Providing leadership in and develop an understanding of and insight into the market for the commodities assigned, including industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing, lead-times, technology and manufacturing capability of company suppliers and suppliers in the market that best meet expectations and objectives. Tracking, monitoring, and executing hedges at optimal raw material market conditions to minimize risk. Telecommuting permitted up to three days per week. Salary $115,295 - $123,750/year.

Experience Required

Minimum Requirements: Requires a bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, logistics or a directly related field plus 2 years of experience as a Sourcing Specialist, Purchasing Specialist, or related occupation. The 2 years of experience must include 2 years of experience with each of the following: 1) Negotiating with suppliers and purchasing parts for an original equipment manufacturer; 2) Analyzing reports to identify cost reduction opportunities; 3) Conducting market tests and forecasting economic savings performance; 4) Coordinating with global teams and supplier capacity management; 5) Negotiating price reductions and increases; 6) Negotiating, implementing and managing LTAs (long term agreements); 7) Facilitating supplier and engineering VA/VE (Value Analysis and Value Engineering) activities; and 8) Tracking, monitoring, and executing supply chain projects.

We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Strategic Sourcing Specialist with experience in steel and aluminum fasteners to manage and optimize our procurement and supplier relationships. This role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, negotiating with suppliers, reducing costs, and ensuring quality and reliability of the supply chain. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sourcing methodologies, supplier performance management, and contract negotiation.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for steel and aluminum fasteners , including bolts, nuts, screws, washers, and specialty hardware.
  • Identify, evaluate and qualify domestic and international suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, and capacity.
  • Conduct market research and cost analysis to support sourcing decisions.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure competitive agreements.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure service, quality, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Work with teams, including but not limited to, engineering, manufacturing, and quality to qualify parts and suppliers.
  • Drive cost savings initiatives through value analysis, volume leverage, and process improvement.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks through proactive planning and supplier diversification.
  • Lead or support RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs for new or existing projects.
  • Maintain supplier scorecards and participate in supplier audits and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards and industry standards (ISO, ASTM, SAE).
  • Support inventory management through lead time optimization and demand forecasting.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Industrial Management, or related field.
  • 4-7 years of sourcing/procurement experience in industrial components, with emphasis on metal fasteners .
  • Strong knowledge of steel and aluminum grades, finishes (e.g., zinc-plated, anodized), and manufacturing processes (cold heading, threading, etc.).
  • Familiarity with fastener standards (e.g., ASTM, SAE, DIN, ISO).
  • Experience with global sourcing and contract manufacturing is a plus.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and sourcing tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with import/export regulations, tariffs, and trade compliance .

How You'll Spend Your Time Here:

This sourcing professional will collaborate with a variety of business unit stakeholders to identify opportunity, develop strategy and execute on core initiatives for categories of spend within IT and software categories. It will be important for the individual in this role to create balance between managing daily sourcing activity and delivering on higher priority initiatives. Sourcing Acumen:
