**Job Description**
**AECOM is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineer III to be based in Rocky Hill, CT.** In this role, the ideal candidate will lead the design effort and project management for bridge projects in Connecticut and other states through AECOM's Northeast region.
This position is an opportunity to work within a well-established and very successful group that offers a diverse range of projects, technical challenges and career development opportunities.
The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:
+ Lead Structural Engineer on projects including reviewing designs and plans.
+ Provides specialized technical input on transportation related projects.
+ Manages bridge projects including design tasks and coordinating work with engineering staff.
+ Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of new bridges utilizing pre-stressed concrete, reinforced concrete, structural steel, and timber components.
+ Assessment and rehabilitation design of existing bridges.
+ Load evaluation of existing bridges.
+ Prepares technical specifications and design documents, report writing, technical engineering support, and limited inspection during construction.
+ Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
+ Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
+ Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings
+ Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and four (4) years of relevant experience in transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ Professional Engineer (PE) license and be willing to obtain reciprocity in the jurisdiction of the projects.
+ Relevant experience working on 'mega' projects that are at/near a billion dollars
+ Experience using MicroStation, OpenBridge, and/or other similar computer software
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Six (6) years of relevant experience is preferred
+ Master's Degree in Structural Engineering
+ Project experience with CTDOT and/or other State DOT's is desired
+ Railroad bridge experience is a plus

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $84,000.00 - $36,000.00.

- Previous professional experience in bridge design
- Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in VA, or obtainable in 6 months
- Previous experience working with VDOT, including familiarity with their Office Practice Manuals, Stage I reports, and Stage II requirements for submission.
- Ability to produce design documentation/calculations and specifications.
- Working knowledge of CAD systems, specifically MicroStation to include experience with VDOT CADD Compliance Standards and use of MDLs.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., MDX, LEAP Bridge, Larsa).
- A thorough understanding of and practical experience applying the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications to transportation structures.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on bridge design
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ideally you'll also have:
- Demonstrated experience on various types of bridges, including both concrete and structural steel bridge types
- Experience in both new bridge design as well as maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, and preservation.
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering
- Proven experience with BrIM workflows and OpenBridge Designer (Bentley Systems).
- Active involvement in local engineering societies.

**Job Description**
**AECOM** is seeking a **Structural Bridge Engineer** for our New York Metro team. This is a great opportunity to take on some career-building projects. This role can be based in either NYC, Piscataway or Bloomfield, NJ.
Our Structural Engineers are involved in planning, preparation and design for New York Metro transportation bridge projects. This is a wonderful opportunity to work on a variety of exciting design/build projects that are highly visible adding value to your career development. These could be small, medium and large projects, including long-span bridges. If you would enjoy being part of a Global Team interacting with colleagues globally, this will give you some global exposure, as well.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
+ Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
+ Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others
+ Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
+ Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
+ Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package
+ Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings
+ Prepares technical specification sections
+ Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
**Qualifications**
**MINMIUM REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering plus four years of relevant experience in transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Ability to hold a PE license in both NY and NJ within 12 months of hire
+ Experience working with bridges - rail and highway bridge projects
+ Experience working in NY Metro agencies
+ Proficiency with CAD and similar computer software
+ 8 years of relevant experience
**Additional Information**
Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
We are interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States. Permanent residency sponsorship is available for current OPT, F1 or H1-B visa holders in the United States.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $110,000.00 - $50,000.00.
