Overview
Purpose: The purpose of this role is to support Teichert Solar's Design/Build group by assisting to develop the structural designs for the solar pipeline and provide engineering support. This role works to develop and maintain positive customer relationships in an effort to develop new business opportunities, and for maintaining safe and profitable construction projects.
Focus & ScopeEssential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below:
- Actively supports the achievement of construction goals and objectives. Stays abreast of evolving industry trends and best practices, including new techniques and equipment.
- Builds and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external customers. Communicates company and project policies, procedures, and standards. Maintains a favorable impression of the company with external customers through professional and courteous interactions.
- Takes ownership of managing career, professional growth, and contribution to Teichert Energy & Utilities Group, Inc. Works closely with engineering services on work performance and productivity. Gains exposure, and contributes to, multiple areas of the company. Communicates personal and professional goals and objectives, with the ultimate result of progressing from a Project Engineer into an Engineering Services role.
- Promotes and protects Teichert's values including diversity, teamwork, fair work environment, and respect of others. Maintains a "team" spirit within the business unit. Works and cooperates with other disciplines (across company lines) to maximize use of resources.

Technical / Specialty Area:
- Completes assignments and tasks on time, accurately, and meets customer expectations.
- Ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, adhere to commitments made to customers, and meet quality and customer expectations. Acts as assistant liaison to initiate and maintain contact between clients, estimators, on-site superintendents, or others to facilitate construction activities and maintain a high degree of customer service. Prepares documentation and correspondence to clients pertaining to project issues, status, or other. Represents the company in project meetings and may attend pre-job meetings with prospective new clients.
- Builds and maintains positive working relationships with customers, A/E representatives, union officials, public agencies, contractors, and other business units. Facilitates communication of company and project policies, procedures, and standards.
- Completes internal administrative organization responsibilities and documentation, including project logs, files, records and reports. May include safety, training, personnel and equipment resources, state and federal regulations, and foremen's diaries. Assists in developing and maintaining written Construction Program guidelines.

Role Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.
Experience & Industry Expertise:
- Minimum of two years of experience as a designer in the field of Engineering, Structural Detailing or Photovoltaics industry or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.
- Ideal candidate has, or is working towards obtaining, a Professional Engineering license in California.
Specific Job Requirements:
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation
- Valid Driver's License
- Basic knowledge of solar ground mount and carport systems.
- Ability to prepare structural calculations.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Ability to create and maintain design standards for drawing sets, develop CAD library.

- Ability to preserve confidential and proprietary information and successfully avoid conflicts-of-interest

BASE SALARY RANGE:
$92,500.00 - $135,333.00
The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.

In the role of Structural Design Engineer, we'll count on you to:
- Assist in condition assessments of various hydraulic structures
- Perform preliminary and detailed civil / structural analysis, design, evaluations, and design options and recommendations for concrete and steel hydraulic structures such as spillways, spillway gates, floodwalls, canals, and other water retaining structures

The Consultant will serve as a subject matter expert in the continuous development and improvement of the Structural Basis of Design.

Structural Design Engineer - Onshore Nuclear / Concrete Projects (East Coast)
United Trades of America is seeking talented Structural Design Engineers to join our growing team for multiple onshore nuclear and heavy concrete building projects along the East Coast. If you have a solid engineering foundation and a passion for working on mission-critical infrastructure, we want to hear from you.
Position OverviewThis role involves performing intermediate-complexity structural engineering assignments under the direct supervision of Discipline or Area Lead Engineers. You will contribute technical expertise to ensure design integrity, code compliance, and project success in a collaborative, multidisciplinary EPC environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and recommend technical solutions to intermediate complexity problems consistent with project requirements
Develop and review design criteria, specifications, and engineering calculations
Coordinate with project management, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues
Support procurement and construction phases by reviewing vendor submittals and responding to RFIs
Maintain compliance with project scope, schedule, quality plans, and federal/state/local codes
Provide material quantity reporting, analysis, and forecasts
U.S. Citizenship required
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in structural design, preferably in EPC projects
Working knowledge of applicable codes including DOE orders
Proficiency with STAADPro, RISA3D, Mathcad, and 3D/2D CADD tools
Effective communication skills across teams and stakeholders
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Experience with nuclear facility design under ASME NQA-1 standards
Practical field experience and knowledge of EPC processes
Experience in DOE or federal government projects
$80,000 to $110,000 per year, DOE (depending on experience)
