**Civil Engineer Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Plan and design a variety of facility establishment, replacement and modernization projects (e.g. buildings, roofing, antenna towers, site work, structural systems, seismic reinforcement, foundations and environmental assessments)
+ Perform on-site surveys to develop designs and detailed reports
+ Conduct and analyze studies of existing facilities
+ Utilize relevant software tools to assist in analysis and design

+ Plan, schedule, and coordinate construction project activities to meet milestones and deadlines working directly with stakeholders and contractors

**Civil Engineer Basic Qualifications:**

Our client is a renowned civil engineering firm seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead projects from conception through completion. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, US , this role is integral to designing and overseeing the development of infrastructure projects, including transportation systems, site developments, and public works. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in civil engineering design, project management, and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for producing detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates, ensuring adherence to all relevant codes and standards. Collaboration with clients, government agencies, and construction teams will be a significant part of your role. You will also mentor junior engineers, review their work, and provide technical guidance. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. Strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to manage complex projects under demanding timelines are essential. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of civil engineering projects.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software.
  • Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and impact assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and building codes.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Review and approve engineering designs prepared by junior engineers.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout project lifecycles.
  • Oversee construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications.
  • Prepare project reports, proposals, and presentations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Georgia or ability to obtain one.
  • Proven experience in project management and leadership.
  • Proficiency in civil design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation).
  • Strong understanding of site development, transportation engineering, or water resources.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
  • Experience with public sector projects is a plus.
