We are looking for Senior Structural Engineers to support our building condition assessment, building design and rehabilitation projects. Join our dynamic structural group and work alongside others who share your passion to support communities through exciting and unique projects.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers in the condition assessment of transportation, building, schools, and commercial structures.
- Develop technical reports including inspection findings and repair recommendations.
- Prepare presentations and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders when necessary.
- Conduct site visits to verify or obtain field measurements, collect and analyze data from the field work, as-built drawings and available reports to address structural concerns.
- Respond to emergency inspections, providing immediate assessments and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while on site to ensure safety of the project team and that of others.
- Perform field investigations and surveys to measure and document existing conditions and details for rehabilitation projects.
- Oversee design development and project deliverables for new and rehabilitation of existing transportation building infrastructure. Requires interaction with other disciplines within the building trade.
- Oversee construction phase services on behalf of the Designer of Record. Interact with contractors and owners to address conditions in the field.
- Perform and lead various design projects under Design/Build and Design/Bid/Build environment.
- Mentor and monitor work by other structural engineers. Perform quality control and quality assurance checks on deliverables.
- Assist senior professionals in developing the proposals and business development related tasks. "
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Licensed or ability to obtain the Professional Engineer license in the States of NY and NJ.
- Proficiency in inspection methods, including non-destructive testing techniques and evaluation of structural integrity.
- Familiar with local and state building codes and standards, and regulations to structural inspections.
- Deep understanding of various structural systems, materials including concrete, steel, masonry and timber, and construction methods.
- Ability to perform close-up inspections from lifts and bucket trucks.
- Attention to detail with focus on accuracy and thoroughness in inspections and reporting.
- Experience with structural analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and MicroStation.
- Thorough understanding of design codes and agency standards such as NYSBC, NYCBC, ASCE, AISC and ACI.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team building skills are essential to meet the expectations of this challenging position.
- Experience with agencies such as MTA, PANYNJ, SCA, NYCEDC and NYCDPR, etc. is desired.
- Certifications from recognized organizations is a plus.
- Valid state drivers license.
- Ability work independently with minimal supervision and able to work with multidisciplinary environment.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or Equivalent, Graduate Degree highly desired.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the structural engineering with a significant portion focused on inspections and assessments. Experience with design of transportation structures is a plus. Position will require a mix of field work and office work. **Pay Range:**
- Locations in NYC & CA (Bay Area) & NJ (RP) - Min Salary $ 111,300.00 - Max Salary $ 161,300.00
**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

**What You'll Be Doing**
+ Achieve and maintain full familiarity with structures inspection manual and procedures to help ensure compliance with those documents.
+ Provide QC/review of inspection reports, perform witness/QC of field inspections, and QC of field inspections after the inspection is performed per the percentages identified above with possible adjustments during the course of performing the required QC.
+ Observe and accurately report on regular QC activities at various work sites.
+ Perform as a technical resource by providing guidance on inspection best practices to the inspectors.

+ Provide reports generated from inspection report outputs to assist the Program Director and maintenance engineering teams on prioritized maintenance and renewal recommendations.

Parsons is looking for amazingly talented **Lead** **Structural Inspection Quality Control (SIQC) Engineers** for QC of field inspections and reports by structural inspection teams.
Responsibilities include:
+ 100% QC/review of inspection reports
+ 10% witness/QC of field inspections

The Lead SIQC Engineer will assist the Program Director, maintenance and engineering teams with input to the Structural Asset Management Plan which is currently in development.
SIQC Engineer must possess significant "hands-on" inspection experience with 5 or more years of structural inspection experience required for the Lead SIQC position. Additionally, the SIQC Engineer shall be required to work during hours to coincide with and support much of the inspection work occurring during nights and weekends as necessary,.
**What You'll Be Doing**
+ Achieve and maintain full familiarity with structures inspection manual and procedures to help ensure compliance with those documents.
+ Provide QC/review of inspection reports, perform witness/QC of field inspections, and QC of field inspections after the inspection is performed per the percentages identified above with possible adjustments during the course of performing the required QC.
+ Observe and accurately report on regular QC activities at various work sites.
+ Perform as a technical resource by providing guidance on inspection best practices to the inspectors.
+ Develop and support QC inspection process improvements.
+ Provide reports generated from inspection report outputs to assist the Program Director and maintenance engineering teams on prioritized maintenance and renewal recommendations.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director or designee to ensure successful and reliable inspections and documentation of the inspections
**What Required Skills** **You'll** **Bring**
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural is required and 8+ years of experience.
+ Registered PEs is required
+ A minimum requirement of five (5) years of hands-on structural inspection and testing experience on major transit system structures.
+ Capability to perform QC of structural inspections related to:- Bridge spans;- Tunnels;- Culverts;- Stations;- Fences;- Retaining walls and shafts;- May include - S&I Pits, bus garages, and parking garages;- Other structures as requested.
+ Experience in structural inspection testing
+ Ability to identify and recommend the most applicable non-destructive (NDT) and destructive testing methods
+ Experience using inspection tools such as the "D-Meter" and other NDT tools such as Dye Penetrant.

SIQC Engineer must possess significant "hands-on" inspection experience with 5 or more years of structural inspection experience required for the Lead SIQC position. Additionally, the SIQC Engineer shall be required to work during hours to coincide with and support much of the inspection work occurring during nights and weekends as necessary,.
**What You'll Be Doing**
+ Achieve and maintain full familiarity with structures inspection manual and procedures to help ensure compliance with those documents.
+ Provide QC/review of inspection reports, perform witness/QC of field inspections, and QC of field inspections after the inspection is performed per the percentages identified above with possible adjustments during the course of performing the required QC.
+ Observe and accurately report on regular QC activities at various work sites.
+ Perform as a technical resource by providing guidance on inspection best practices to the inspectors.
+ Develop and support QC inspection process improvements.
+ Provide reports generated from inspection report outputs to assist the Program Director and maintenance engineering teams on prioritized maintenance and renewal recommendations.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director or designee to ensure successful and reliable inspections and documentation of the inspections
**What Required Skills** **You'll** **Bring**
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural is required and 8+ years of experience.
+ Registered PEs is required
+ A minimum requirement of five (5) years of hands-on structural inspection and testing experience on major transit system structures.
+ Capability to perform QC of structural inspections related to:- Bridge spans;- Tunnels;- Culverts;- Stations;- Fences;- Retaining walls and shafts;- May include - S&I Pits, bus garages, and parking garages;- Other structures as requested.
+ Experience in structural inspection testing
+ Ability to identify and recommend the most applicable non-destructive (NDT) and destructive testing methods
+ Experience using inspection tools such as the "D-Meter" and other NDT tools such as Dye Penetrant.
+ Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate schedules with on-site structural inspection crews and provide detailed and accurate QC reporting on field inspection tasks and inspection reports
+ Lead SIQC Engineer is required to have experience with providing recommendations on prioritizing structural asset management strategies, including maintenance and renewals
+ Proposed P.E.s must possess the following certifications:- FHWA-NHI-130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges, or- FHWA-NHI-130056 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges for Professional Engineers;- FHWA-NHI-130078 Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges
+ Must be able to work in confined spaces.
+ Must be able to pass a government background check.
+ Must be able to work predominantly during night and weekend shifts (and Holidays as required)
+ Must have reliable transportation and must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license

+ Tunnel Operations, Maintenance, Inspection and Evaluation (TOMIE) Manual
+ Specifications for the National Tunnel Inventory (SNTI)
+ National Certified Tunnel Inspector (NCTI)
+ Proficient with MS Office Suite of tools.
+ Completion of a 10-hour OSHA safety course is preferred.
+ Ability to successfully complete the OSHA Confined Spaces Training.
