This vacancy will be used to fill a Trainee-Graduate Engineer position in the Bridge Office. This position provides a unique and rare opportunity for a Trainee to participate on the Blatnik Bridge Replacement Project Team, assisting with design and construction oversight of the replacement of the Blatnik Bridge.
Replacing the Blatnik Bridge is a top priority of MnDOT and WisDOT. The replacement of the bridge is MnDOT's largest bridge project to date, with a total project cost estimated to be 1.8 billion. The project includes bridge-type alternatives of either a Tied Arch or Cable Stayed bridge for the main navigation span, and beam-type structures on the approach spans. The overall length of the new bridge is over 1.5 miles.
The bridge is located within the Duluth-Superior Harbor, which is recognized as the busiest port on the Great Lakes. More than 35 million tons of cargo move through the port each year. Deconstructing the existing bridge and building a new bridge, while minimizing impacts to navigation and maintaining safety, will be a major challenge for this project.
The project is being developed using the Design-Build project delivery method, and design oversight will likely occur during 2026 and the first parts of 2027. Your role will include participation on MnDOT's oversight team, working on the review of design and construction submittals. Tasks may include assisting with the review of elements of the bridge design, including steel beams, prestressed concrete beams, and foundation designs, and select elements of the main span alternatives.
MnDOT staff will be co-located with the Design Build Contractor in a yet-to-be-determined location in the Metro area. Graduate Engineer (EIT) – Drainage / Water Resources
Our client, a well-established civil engineering firm, is seeking a motivated Graduate Engineer (EIT) to join their Hydrology & Hydraulics (H&H) team in Houston. This role offers hands-on experience, structured mentorship, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects in drainage, land development, and transportation.
Position Overview
This opportunity is ideal for an early-career civil engineer who wants exposure to both design and modeling while working directly with senior engineers and project managers. You’ll be joining a five-person H&H group within a mid-sized, stable firm that prioritizes professional development and long-term growth.
This is an in-office only position with flexible work hours available.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform H&H modeling and drainage design for civil infrastructure projects.
- Support drafting and production work in AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
- Assist senior project managers and engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, with opportunities to support land development and transportation work.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports, design documents, and project deliverables.
Qualifications
- 0–3 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
- Texas Engineer-in-Training (EIT) license required.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D preferred.
- Interest in both modeling and design (not just analysis).
- Academic or internship background in hydrology, hydraulics, or general civil engineering a plus (technical training provided).
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $75,000–$82,000, commensurate with experience.

Our professional software development team has designed and produced software systems ranging from integrated multi-disciplinary design and optimization systems to 3D interactive design/analysis systems, weapons effects and operational mission planning systems, electronic technical manuals, cyber security applications, and multimedia database management systems.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have an active interest in applying math/statistics/engineering concepts to solve multi-disciplinary problems. The candidate should be familiar with improving/optimizing/tuning existing algorithms as well as developing new algorithms from scratch. This position will include design and development of engineering and physics-based methodologies, analytical algorithms, and software tools. The candidate should demonstrate a hands-on approach to problem-solving and must be willing to actively participate in the evaluation of algorithm and system performance.
Required Engineer Intern Qualifications:
- US Citizenship (Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information).
- Graduate student in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Math, Physics, or a closely related field.

**Job Description**
**AECOM** is seeking a **Water Resources Graduate Engineer** to be based in **Minneapolis, Minnesota.**
_The position is expected to begin in May or June 2026._
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Apply proven experience to the planning and design of water resources projects including H&H modeling and floodplain mapping, stormwater quality modeling, flood control projects, stormwater treatment, site development, and transportation-related drainage design.
+ Provide engineering review of stormwater and erosion control plans. Develop scopes of work and budgets for water resources projects or for water resources components of larger projects.
+ Prepare permit applications and pursue approval.
+ Develop and formulate cost-effective, technical solutions to client problems on assigned projects.
+ Prepare construction plans, specifications, construction cost estimates, correspondence, and reports.
+ Communicate and work with other project team members to provide quality service to clients to ensure that all documentation conforms to client/company standards. Collaborate with other groups across AECOM offices.
+ Field work may be required on an occasional basis to support land surveyor and construction engineers.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ BA/BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related field + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
+ Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.
