Overview
Distinctive Schools is seeking a dynamic and motivated Student Recruitment Intern to support our efforts during the spring and summer seasons. Student Recruitment interns play a crucial role in attracting and engaging prospective students and families to join our school community. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in education, admissions, recruitment, community outreach, and marketing to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative educational organization.
The student recruitment intern will work as part of the Engagement team towards achieving target enrollment goals at nine (9) Distinctive Schools campuses across the city of Chicago. This role will serve as a true ambassador of Distinctive Schools, representing the organization through written, verbal, and in-person communication, presentation, and relationship-building.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the DS Deputy Chief of Engagement, Student Recruitment & Enrollment Manager, engagement team members, and recruitment and enrollment leads at each DS school
Conduct outreach and build relationships with community organizations, educational institutions, day care centers, and other community contacts
Research community event opportunities occurring in spring and summer
Represent Distinctive Schools at season events, sponsorships, festivals and other community events
Build out community databases and facilitate outreach of current contacts – via phone, email, and in-person – with community arts, education, faith-based, and other organizations
Distribute recruitment materials at area businesses and other external partners
Identify opportunities to meet prospective families – and confidently share the story of Distinctive Schools in new, creative and dynamic ways
Hold 1:1 conversations with current and prospective families and students
Assist in the planning and execution of recruitment events, including open houses, information sessions, and community outreach activities
Provide support to prospective families during the application process, offering guidance and information about the school's programs, admissions requirements, and deadlines
Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of prospective students, applications, and recruitment efforts to ensure effective tracking and reporting
Work closely with the admissions team, school administrators, and other stakeholders to align recruitment strategies with the school's mission and values
Support all aspects of the Distinctive Schools Recruitment?Enrollment Pipeline
Assist with the recruitment of family and community volunteers to support and build capacity around greater efforts
Requirements (minimum)
Education:
High School Diploma and Currently enrolled as a student in a relevant field (e.g., education, marketing, communications, or related disciplines)
Qualifications:
Ability to work effectively as a team member in a multicultural environment; develop an awareness of and respect for the customs and cultures of DS students, staff and families
Spanish speaking preferred
Must be available to work afternoon, evening, and weekend hours
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Physical Demands
Work is typically performed in an office setting with occasional extended periods of time at computer terminals. Occasional visits to off-site or campus locations is required. Generally, the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking, and 20% standing. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity.

Job SummaryThe Office of Admissions is currently seeking an energetic, hardworking and professional Student to serve as a student recruitment specialist at FIU.Students will get opportunities for professional development activities, become well informed on university departments, get to be part of our selective team and have the opportunity to show their FIU spirit by giving tours of our campus to hundreds of prospective students throughout the year.
Responsibilities will include:
Conduct tours of MMC and BBC to prospective students and select university partners and stakeholders.
Staff the Office of Admissions welcome desk to answer questions and provide information to prospective students.
Input contact card information into FIU database for prospective students.
Manage and create content for the Join FIU social media accounts.
Create welcome packets with FIU collateral pieces for prospective student groups, FIU departments, and Office of Admissions recruiters.
Maintain and update an inventory list of materials and supplies maintained for admissions-related events.
Support supervisors with annual Admissions events, including but not limited to Fall Showcase and Admitted Student Day at MMC and BBC.
Remains up to date on FIU policies and practices in order to accurately inform prospective students about details related to the University.
Receive and maintain all trainings/licenses related to specific Admissions/Enrollment functions (examples include but are not limited to working the reception area, instant messaging with students via Live Chat, and golf cart training).

Overview
The Senior Director, Student Recruitment & Enrollment will lead the charge in KIPP NYC's mission of the future to grow and serve nearly 10,000 students by 2028. The Senior Director will design and drive the regional strategy for student recruitment and enrollment, with the goal that all KIPP NYC schools are fully enrolled every school year.
This role will lead the KIPP NYC Student Recruitment & Enrollment (SRE) team, which includes an Associate Director of Recruitment, SRE Data Manager, Enrollment Associate Manager, and Community Outreach team. The Senior Director will partner closely with school leaders, regional teams, and external stakeholders to meet enrollment goals through data-driven strategy and real-time community insights.
Reporting to the Managing Director of Regional Operations, this NYC-based role is part of the Regional Operations team. This is a hybrid position and based at the KIPP NYC Shared Services Team (SST) office in Midtown Manhattan and requires occasional travel to schools and programs in Manhattan, the Bronx, and Brooklyn.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Design & lead the KIPP NYC regional vision and strategy for student recruitment, enrollment, and retention strategies to meet student enrollment targets for our K-12 schools
- Partner with regional leaders, including school leaders on all matters related to student enrollment and recruitment, to ensure that outreach efforts are inclusive, culturally responsive, and grounded in the lived experiences of the families we serve.
- Manage strategic cross-team alignment, especially between the Regional Operations Team and the Marketing & Communications team, for weekly updates to the Chief Schools Officer and Chief Financial Officer
- Manage and develop the KIPP NYC Student Recruitment & Enrollment team, to effectively execute on team priorities and to foster a strong professional learning culture
- Oversee the recruitment team structure, including ongoing collaborations with the Community Outreach team.
- Build and maintain a high-performing team culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Lead monthly school operations training on Student Recruitment and Enrollment through the year, including Opening Apps, Schoolmint, Intent to Return, Lottery Prep, and Enrollment, Recruitment Best Practices and Keep Warm Strategies.
- Oversee the creation and execution of regional marketing and outreach campaigns, including grassroots community engagement, and materials development.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Team on above-the-line advertising campaigns, including providing data and input that supports creative development, media planning, and geo targeting.
- Guide the Community Outreach team in building authentic relationships with families - meeting them where they are, earning their trust, and helping them envision a future with KIPP NYC.
- Collaborate with school operations teams to strengthen campus-specific recruitment plans and in-school family engagement efforts.
- Set, monitor, and adjust annual recruitment and enrollment goals and KPIs based on rigorous data analysis, including applications, conversion rates, enrollment trends, attrition rates and landscape analysis, and demographic shifts.
- Lead implementation and continuous improvement of enrollment platforms, including oversight of SchoolMint training, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Collaborate with the school Managing Director to regularly assess student attrition, withdrawal, and retention data to stay informed of interventions and support school leaders are executing to reach retention goals.
- Develop and update internal enrollment, transfer, and withdrawal policies aligned to operational excellence and family experience.
- Oversee and centralize annual Intent to Return Process, including coordination of data sheets, rosters and dashboards, timing, tracking, and reporting.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of professional experience in school operations, enrollment, or a related field, with 3+ years managing teams and managing managers.
- Demonstrated experience in the design and execution of complex strategies to drive towards measurable outcomes at scale.
- High proficiency in Google/Microsoft Suite to create teaching decks. Experience with enrollment platforms (e.g., SchoolMint, Powerschool) highly preferred.
- Strong data analytics, including the ability to translate data into clear and accessible insights for decision-making for all audiences
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholders.

Salary & Benefits
The starting base salary for the position is $128,000 - $150,000 and commensurate with experience. Salary ranges at KIPP NYC are standardized based on role level and role function. Individual salaries are determined through a lens of equity, accounting for years of experience relevant to the role and scope of responsibilities, and are benchmarked against others within the same salary band.

The Opportunity
The Student Recruitment and Enrollment Coordinator will play a critical role in designing and implementing annual student recruitment and enrollment plans that align with the ISANA mission, values, and priorities. They will collaborate with the Student and Family Services Coordinators (SFSCs), School leaders, Central Office teams to ensure a comprehensive, coherent school strategy, including but not limited to, planning, data management, outreach, and marketing. They will work with all levels at the ISANA Central Offices and at our schools, as well as with families, students, community-based partners, and external stakeholders.
Primary role of the Coordinator is to ensure that all ISANA schools are fully enrolled. The Coordinator will accomplish this by engaging with families and the community, increasing operational efficiency and effectiveness through the recruitment and enrollment process, analyzing trends to drive recruitment and enrollment decision making, and developing best practices. They will train and coach school team members on effective recruitment and enrollment strategies and implement new practices across the organization.
The Coordinator will directly report to the Chief Operations Office and/or the Chief Executive Officer.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Student Recruitment and Enrollment Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Partner with the COO to develop and oversee the execution of ISANAs student recruitment and enrollment strategy
- Define metrics, set targets, and track progress against recruitment and enrollment goals across the organization
- Partner with media department on development of standardized marketing materials and planning/implementation of both online and offline recruitment strategies
- Work with school sites to ensure Social Media channels are up to date
- Partner with the Business Operations Manager to manage the student lottery process and software
- Support SFSCs in the development of school-level recruitment plans, strategies and events to engage families and increase enrollment applications
- Partner with SFSCs to develop partnerships with community organizations and non-ISANA schools for the purpose of student recruitment
- Directly support schools with recruitment by attending recruitment events and assisting in the coordination of volunteers, leading canvassing and outreach efforts, and presenting to community organizations as needed.
- Coach SFSCs to ensure school recruitment and enrollment efforts are planned and executed
- Provide training, professional development, and coaching to build SFSCs capacity in development and implement student recruitment plans
- Manage recruitment and collection of Prop 39 Interest Forms
- Support special projects and other tasks as instructed by the COO and/or CEO
- Assist in the training of school teams on effective student recruitment strategies
- Assist in the recruiting, training, and support of canvassing teams
- Facilitate the sharing of recruitment and enrollment best practices
- Provide struggling schools with additional coaching, training, and execution of student recruitment and enrollment plans
- This job is primarily in the field and at the various ISANA school sites. The job is often at events outdoors and may require lifting materials, setting up tents and tables, standing for period of time, walking long distances in the community, and speaking to members of the community in small and large group settings
- Must have reliable transportation, insurance coverage, and a valid Class C California driver's license
