Learns and conducts routine tests following established procedures, which may include assays, DNA sequencing, tissue culture, protein purification, Southern blotting, PCR analysis, electrophoresis, and/or chromatography. Learns and uses standard research equipment such as microscopes, incubators, autoclaves, centrifuges. Collects basic study data through monitoring devices and maintains daily logs/basic records of methodologies and test results. With supervision, using databases, may summarize data and interpret results using descriptive statistics and basic hypothesis testing. Attends Medical Center lectures regarding all safety requirements/conditions. Attends courses, lectures, and conferences to further own knowledge of research. May perform literature searches and library investigations as they relate to the research.

Job Description: Essential Responsibilities: Learns about the process and assists a study team with recruit and enrollment of patients onto clinical trials according to study protocols in association with the PI or study team. May assist in assessment of patients' eligibility for inclusion in a particular protocol based on contracts with physicians and nurses and knowledge of the protocol. Assists in checking all eligibility and ineligibility criteria with the patients' medical record. Verifies information with clinical research nurse and/or principal investigator. Learns about informed consent and assist in discussion with patients. Assists with scheduling appointments and follow up tests. Learns protocol(s) and assists in monitoring strict adherence by physicians, nurses and patients. Reviews protocol requirements with physicians, nurses and fellows. Learns to identify any problems with protocol compliance and notifies principal investigator and/or research nurse. Begins to learn how to independently resolve problems with protocol. Learns how to extract data on protocol patients from hospital records, outpatient charts and private physician office records in order to complete case report forms required by specific protocols. We are seeking an individual with a passion for working in healthcare and for leadership research, in pursuit of the ultimate goal of providing safe and efficient patient care. The ideal candidate will enjoy working on multiple projects simultaneously, have an interest in both research and applied work, and thrive in an autonomous work environment. Candidates should also have an interest in translating this research into evidence-based best practices and tools for organizations.
This is a remote position that does not require Texas residency, and applications will be accepted from residents of most (33) states. However, MD Anderson is unable to accept applications from candidates residing in the following states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Washington, Washington DC, and West Virginia.
Three semesters minimum is preferred. Please note your desired start and end dates in statement of interest.
*LEARNING OBJECTIVES*
As a Graduate Student Research Trainee, you will gain valuable exposure to a world-renowned healthcare organization and leading experts in leadership development and will develop skills needed to be successful in both the academic and applied fields.

- Currently enrolled in an I/O Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Human Factors Psychology, or related field from an accredited program

- Proficiency in data collection/statistical software (e.g., Excel, R, SPSS, Qualtrics, Power BI)
- Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and autonomously
*POSITION INFORMATION*
Students will receive a stipend of approximately $23 per hour for the duration of the engagement. Stipends are paid on the 5th and 20th of each month, deducting the required federal taxes.
Offsite work arrangements are subject to approval and may be modified or revoked at any time based on business needs, performance considerations, or regulatory requirements.
This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening.
